Mayweather vs Pacquiao thread

Not long till the big fight now! Who do you think will take it ?

I'm looking forward to being in Vegas while the fight is on but i'm guessing everywhere is going to be rammed, and prices will go up no doubt.

Still, can't wait !! :thumbsup

Was on hotels.com today, lots of hotels charging $1000+ a night.

MakeMeGrrrrowl 04-16-2015 12:53 PM

Pacquiao is my vote.

Yeah. Thankfully we booked up months ago...

ESAW 04-16-2015 01:30 PM

mayweather will win so easily, the whole world will wonder why this was ever even a debate.

CarlosTheGaucho 04-16-2015 01:45 PM

Looking forward to it, although Floyd seems to be in amazing shape and composure, with these two types of fighters against each other you may never know. One mistake and one may be up to a major surprise, and you can't ever rule out a charger like Pacquiao with his heart, stamina and punching power.

I put my money on Mayweather winning on points, with a side bet that the fight goes past the ninth round. Let's hope that the money team stays true to its name!

DavieVegas 04-16-2015 03:11 PM

Mayweather has never lost. Wasting your money on betting Manny. If its not broke then dont fix it. Floyd going to win on cards.

slapass 04-16-2015 05:50 PM

Mayweather will win and it will be the most boring fight in history.

mineistaken 04-16-2015 06:16 PM

conspiracy: pac will win, so that they could profit from a rematch (not the other way around because money must come up on top).
Money is huge, so who would pass out on doubling it?

Spunky 04-16-2015 06:16 PM

Will be a good fight,Mayweather will take it

Horatio Caine 04-16-2015 06:22 PM

Mayweather will win because refs will make sure he does. No KOs expected. Close fight - winner Mayweather.

Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr by Decision or Technical Decision -140

TheSquealer 04-16-2015 07:42 PM

Every boxing coach i've asked (maybe 12 or so) thinks mayweather will lose.

VikingMan 04-16-2015 10:12 PM

I guess I don't know how this all works but I do believe that matches are fixed at least some of the time. I was thinking Mayweather would win because more people want to see Pacquiao win and would be itching for a rematch.

Regardless I pick Mayweather with with a split decision.

NETbilling 04-16-2015 10:15 PM

If you are going to be in Vegas but not at the fight, I was told by a few people that they won't be showing it in commercial venues. Is this true?

If it's like the other fights, some places will have it, some places won't, but I cannot envision it simply being not available. That may be the case, but that sounds a little nuts.

For a place that does show it, I would expect to pay a pretty high cover (potentially higher than just ordering it at home), or minimum spend to watch it somewhere commercially. You will def need to plan ahead, and I think in that process you'll discover if its available or not in the city.

It's hard to watch the UFC in vegas as well. I remember wanting to watch a UFC fight, and they told me something ludicrous like $50 or $75 a person, it was literally cheaper to order the PPV at home, and I was calling a Buffalo Wild Wings or Twin Peaks, nowhere even crazy.

Jim_Gunn 04-16-2015 11:33 PM

I believe Mayweather will probably win a decision, but with boxing's crookedness and seeing so many split and majority draws on the judges' scorecards in the sport over the last year, I think the fight ends in draw prop at +1800 (winning 18x your stake) isn't a crazy bet to throw a few bucks on.

NaughtyRob 04-17-2015 12:21 AM

5 yrs ago I would have said Mayweather but I gotta go with Pacquiao now.

incorrect, there's a lifense fee for commercial properties that want to show the fight. For example both Hustler Club and Hard Rock hotel will have the fight. The license fee has to do with the capacity of the venue and can average as high as $75/person

This is going to be the $$$largest night$$ in the history of Vegas

ianmoone332000 04-17-2015 05:59 AM

I would love to see Manny floor him in the first round or 2. That way Floyd has got to get up and get stuck in but i honestly think mayweather on points

nikki99 04-17-2015 08:53 AM

Pacquiao :thumbsup

Manny Pacquiao will win.
Floyd has difficulty fighting southpaws. And Manny is adding power to that left hand by sparring with left hand only for 12 rounds.

I see Floyd will get floored in the 4th. And Manny will win it via unanimous decision.

Gotta get the PPV next week.

I wonder how much money will this bout generates. From ticket gates, PPV, commercials, endorsements, bets, hotels.. etc.
I am sure even the hookers in Vegas will double their price on fight week.

You are dreaming. Neither one of these guys has knocked out anyone in about a decade. Mayweather on points and expect rounds 11-15 to be "hugging it out."

I agree but the power is still there, Manny floored Chris Algieri 6-7 times on his last fight.

Yulp.. and on an inside note pacman is just like any boxer from the street. He got huge outside the ring issues... gambling, smoking drinking ect. It's low profile because he goes to those rich asian biz man casinos that protect his character. And lets not get into peds lol.

Relentless 04-17-2015 11:11 PM

Manny needs a knockout to win.
Floyd knows Manny needs a knockout to win
Floyd will win.

I have a feeling everywhere that is actually showing it then will be rammed beyond belief... :Oh crap:Oh crap

Ross 04-20-2015 10:31 AM

I fly out of Vegas the night before the flight. My hotel for 4 nights at Cosmo is $1k or something, Friday and Saturday night is selling for $800 a night right now. In a way I'm glad I won't be in Vegas for the fight, I'll have friends round to watch it at mine but another part of me wishes I did just stay there for the fight. The only reason I initially planned on staying was I thought tickets would have been less than they are, a bit foolish of me I guess lol.

Rounds 11-15, lol? 15 round sanctioned boxing matches ended in the late 1980s. Title fights are 12 rounds now.

Yeah it's a pity you leave before the fight. Because Laura will have ZERO interest in even watching it at all...

i am trying to get PPV here in CZ - impossible

it is beyond me why it is not sold as single event somewhere, in some countries i have to get a full pay tv subscription to be able to book this for extra money, in other countries i have no chance to watch this at all. at least legally, somewhere i might find a pirate site that streams it

fucking asshats

anyone watch this at home and can point a webcam to his TV? lol

This fight should have happened four years ago when manny was at his prime.

Floyd is very clever to wait this long after many isn't hungry anymore :2 cents:

Floyd is overrated as fuck but manny is on the decline.

signupdamnit 04-20-2015 03:55 PM

I want Pacman to win but I think Mayweather will take it.

Then again if Pacman wins it could set up a string of rematches that mean lots of $$$$$$$ so who knows what will happen. It's sad to say but in boxing it's not always just about the skill and heart of the fighters.

johnnyloadproductions 04-20-2015 04:14 PM

I don't have cable tv or any HBO or Showtime packages.

Is there any clear method to watch PPV on a computer? I've seen it done before...
It doesn't seem clear cut, I can't blame the networks as it's still relatively unconventional.

Plz help... :helpme
