Should I Go To Prague?

Hey show goers: I am going to be at the Amsterdam show in September (anyone who wants to meet hit me up) so why should I then drag my ass to Prague the next week to go to that show? Aren't there the same people at both shows so what's the point?

Give me an argument for going and I will go. :)

LAJ 08-11-2017 10:46 AM

Absolutely go... yes there is crossover of attendance but not nearly as much as one would think.

Main advantage of going to both is simply visiting Prague; you are relatively close compared to home.

ThePornNerd, I presume you're from USA/CA.

If you've already made the journey to Europe, and can afford the time, extend your trip to Praha. Not because the city is beautiful, or because the women are gorgeous. Consider it as an extension of your attending WA. Whatever business conversations you started in Amsterdam, you can continue and possibly wrap up in Praha.

Good point. You can see it as "6 day conference show"

The Porn Nerd 08-11-2017 05:43 PM

All good points, thanks everyone!

And Prague is certainly cheaper than Amsterdam. LOL

Paul Markham 08-11-2017 10:57 PM

Hell yes. Great city.

It's not the actual show that's more expensive but the city of Amsterdam! Maybe it's the exchange rate but for some reason this year accomodations are super expensive (going through AirBnB).

So....Prague here I come (uh oh)!

Tasty1 08-12-2017 09:29 AM

Prague and Amsterdam are great to combine in 1 trip.
Both shows profit from it and are growing.

AirBNB could be more expensive. If you rent out your house now in Amsterdam you must register that. It is forbidden to rent a house out as holiday house more than 60 days a year.... They gave 565.000 euro in fines already and some "airbnb service agencies" went out of business. If you rent out illegaly you get a fine of around 12.000 euro per apartment. They are now checking a lot of airbnb's. And, don't know how much influence it has, the WMA is 2 - 3 weeks earlier. Could still be high season prices.

So what is a good alternative to AirBnB and a solution to this problem? Maybe try Craig's List or Backpage for roommates or short-term rentals....

Seriously, I could rent out a studio for six months at the same price for three weeks via AirBnB!

Just come for some days to Bucharest, I'll give you a tour in the city, and webcam world. Maybe it is time to see the working part of the industry :)

RyuLion 08-13-2017 01:20 PM

A show is what you make of it, pre-schedule your meetings during the day or dinners so you can enjoy the parties too.
Don't forget to hydrate yourself, Vitamin C, Asprin, get plenty of rest before and after the show.

Since I want to marry a Romanian girl I may take you up on this offer! I will have a few days first week of October. :)

Are there any sex clubs in Bucharest?

GAMEFINEST 08-13-2017 02:36 PM

Marrying a Romanian Girl is not a bad idea, but 3 out of the 5 marriages here fail. If sky diving would have this same effect would you still jump?
However, we can help you find the right one :)

Ehhh sex clubs in Romania? Probably there are some, but I am not sure if they are legal, we do have massage salons and strippers clubs, but not a wise investment :) However, the " working girls from Home " market is pretty big :) See you in October!

Is not. Trust me, You'll notice once there. Prague used to be cheaper.
Mafia took the city over and they charge in their many "mini markets" 4 bucks for a coke or beer. In clubs 6 bucks for 1cl(!) vodka. They'll screw you when You don't pay attention.
Prague Warning! They screw tourists like they never did before!

Just traveled from Berlin to Prague and realized that Berlin is way cheaper.

Jane-Busty.pl 08-15-2017 08:25 AM

As for Prague:

- EXCHANGE POINTS. CAUTION! They will charge you a COMMISSION - up to 30%!

- Exchange rates they display large are sale rates, they sale euros/dollars at those rates.
But when they buy from You, they'll pay You scandalous rates.
ATM is the cheapest option.

- When You pay with a CC then choose the option "in your currency".
Don't let the seller convert to their conditions. Choose Your bank's conditions.

- Remember to NEVER do any transactions on the street. Cheaters will poke you offering a "great deal".
- Be aware of cheaters at ATMs trying to change 1000 CZK notes.

I'm telling You, Prague has become a mafia city.
They want to screw You everywhere. No joke.

I've been to Prague about 20 times. And it was never as bad as it is now.
Never ever Prague.

I must correct you, drinking water for stupid tourists are more like 8 Euros close to Charles Bridge and castle. Prices have been like that for 15 years. Just stay away from touristy places and you will be fine. Walk into a Vietnamese run grocery store around the next corner where you get 1.5 liters of water for less than half an Euro.

Regarding your exchange rate claims, just go to the next bank and exchange your bill. Fees are minimal. Max. 1%. And opt out of forex services on ATMs. Those services to bill in your home currency are a global scam not unique to Praha. How else are banks supposed to make money these days?

I doubt Berlin is cheaper than Prague. A day pass for the metro is over 7 Euros, twice as much as in Prague. A beer is at least 3 Euro, three times as much as Prague (and not as juicy).

Travel smart :-)

Lulz i been 12 times in Prague, and only scamming experience was when hot dog seller returned me 50 CZK instead 150 czk.

1. Yeah there is one chain in centre which advertise as 0% commision but exchange ratio is lower then official so you can lose a lot of money on it. There is a video on youtube where one local dude was sitting in front of it entire day and stopping tourists informing them how that provider is bad, but since they still operate i guess he didnt managed to stop them.
But anyway, i find it hard to believe people still using exchange service,l was always using ATM , and only once i exchanged at bus station since i was able to check exchange rate on their website before i arrived. So basically, if you want to use them, check on internet current rate, ask howmuch money you can get, then decide.

2. The thing "in your currency" is nothing related to Prague, it's a simply an ATM feature which let you pick to decide do you want exchange ratio by your card issuer or by ATM bank. Card issuer ratio is always better.

3. Exchange on street? With somany options to exchange and exchange service on every corner it is absurd to do it on street. Any kind of deal on street is bad idea. Including buying hot dogs.

Every tourist city is full of scammers and that is something what is hard to evade. Which is good to educate about it to make sure to avoid any problems.

In age of tripadvisor and airbnb you really need to have bad luck to be burned.
