Tesla W.T.FUCK !!!!!!!!

Their new roadster is amazing: 0-60 in 1.9seconds. :thumbsup:thumbsup

TESLA ROADSTER
The Roadster was the first car Tesla built, proving that electric cars could be fun. The new Roadster aims to show they can compete with the fastest cars on Earth. Powered by three motors linked to a massive 200 kWh battery pack, it goes from 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, can hit 100 mph in just 4.2, and has a top speed of over 250. All while achieving a truly unprecedented range of 620 miles. The exterior is both sleeker and more aggressive than the company's current lineup, yet still identifiable as a Tesla, while the interior has a 2+2 arrangement, with a racing-inspired rectangular steering wheel, a single display integrated into the center console, and a Targa-like roof that can be stored in the trunk. Rollouts begin in 2020, and if you want yours first, you'll have to pony up a $250,000 deposit to reserve a Founder's Series model, which include the first 1,000 cars off the line.

Looks pretty fun

They can't deliver the Model 3 and just had a record loss. Presenting cars is one thing, building and delivering is something traditional manufacturers still do a lot better.

No, they missed the Model 3 delivery goals.

Tesla delivered 220 of the 1500 Tesla Model 3 cars promised in Q3 2017. This sucks, sure, but remember this is a brand new car requiring new techniques on the assembly line, etc. As Musk put it, "we're building the machine to build the machine".

In the same quarter, Tesla delivered 25,930 Model S's and Model X's.

Their total deliveries for Q1 and Q2 2017 is 47,077, and they are expecting to have delivered over 100,000 cars by the end of the year which if they do, will mean the increased their sales by 31% over 2016. That's really impressive.

Peace.

You should have replaced Sean Spicer...

Anyways, even Musk admits to their shortcomings when it comes to actual production and I take his word over yours.

And this doesn't contradict my statement about traditional manufacturers being better at production. Naturally. Because of decades of experience.

Nick-Mindgeek 11-20-2017 02:45 PM

Better at production ( for now ) but a complete embarrassment on the engineering level for all the old school car brands...

it´s remarkable how fast off the line she is and amazing how fast top end, tesla have really delivered this time. Hopefully they´ll deliver these cars on time too :2 cents:

Of course you should. And like I said, they missed their Q3 projection, which means that yes they had shortcomings. Did Musk say something different? Can you provide me a link to that please?

You said Tesla Can't deliver the Model 3. They are.

You said Tesla just had a record loss. They didn't.

If you define "better at production" as the number of cars built in a fixed time, then ok you're right about that. And if you read what I said, I didn't contradict what you said. When any company makes a new car, they are bound to hit slow-downs or need changes along the way. GM announced the new Camaro in 2008, and they didn't ship until 2 years later, and mine took almost 7 months to arrive even though I was promised 2 months. Shit happens with any new car.

But even experienced car makers can hit problems. Wouldn't you agree?

I sort of agree, but... if I wanted the FASTEST car and bought a Lambo only because it was the fastest, then yes I'd be pissed right now. :)

So lucky! The Model 3's haven not made it to the Tesla showroom near me yet. Sigh.

Tesla Reports Its Biggest-Ever Quarterly Loss | Fortune

Quote:

Tesla racked up a $619 million loss in the third quarter, its biggest-ever, driving its shares sharply lower as the electric-car maker spends to speed up production of its more affordable Model 3 sedan.

The company, led by Silicon Valley star Elon Musk, also confirmed it had missed its Model 3 production goal for the third quarter, producing only 260 vehicles compared to an earlier estimate of 1,500.
btw - VW builds about 2550 Golf per day - makes about 230,000 per quarter - compared to 260

Rochard 11-22-2017 12:04 PM

One one hand it's amazing. On the other hand it's not really impressive. The differences between a gasoline powered motor and an electric motor is staggering.

imabro 11-22-2017 12:25 PM

They need a car that is as fast as the $8,000 a minute they are losing.
