For those who think teachers should have guns...

do they get a salary bump?
do they get training?
what happens when they don't want to have a gun?
why the fuck would anyone think a teacher is security?
i think it's bullshit!

Paul Markham 02-27-2018 08:19 AM

It is bullshit.

Are they suggesting the staff at airports, embassies, malls, etc should be armed instead of having highly trained police or ex-combat veterans?

beerptrol 02-27-2018 08:23 AM

all that matters is the NRA thinks so and owns the politicians when it comes to gun laws

One of the teachers who died was school security. He was licensed to carry but couldn't on campus. Instead he died shielding kids with his body

pimpmaster9000 02-27-2018 09:22 AM

dude even cops wont go in when there is an active shooter what makes you think teachers will go rambo?...imagine a hallway full of screaming kids and the teacher has to open fire...

you either put in trained professionals with AR-15s and it looks like a war zone or you are trying to cure cancer with cough medication...

teachers != rambo

you secure the campus like they do in poor areas. but it looks awful... in poor areas they have fences and patrolling security. you cant enter some campuses without security contacting you. some schools here have duty officers. real cops.

Trump is just trying to change the national conversation from victims of a high school shooting mass murder wanting gun control to teachers in schools having guns.

Acepimp 02-27-2018 12:19 PM

You people are hysterical.

Brass- No one wants to just hand out guns to teachers. No one wants to force teachers to do anything. Lots of school districts have been letting staff carry for YEARS.

Volunteers who WANT to carry get a ton of training.

It's the best solution because
A) They already get paid. No extra rent-a-cops-needed.
B) They don't wear a uniform so they're not the first target of a shooter.
C) They're already inside, not outside hiding in the bushes

Here is a Texas police chief explaining how this works:

a gun free zone is just that students nor staff shall bring weapons to school. hire security! let the teachers do their jobs! without extra pay its bullshit! if they sign up

I have seen nothing that suggests ANY teacher that doesn't want to be armed would be FORCED to carry.

You have said some pretty ignorant things over the years; I think you just raised the bar.

im guessing you haven't been around many gun owners. or shooting ranges. i don't need to shoot insults to converse. and you are calling me ignorant??

blackmonsters 02-27-2018 02:31 PM

If a teacher has a gun and fails to use it during an attack, can the teacher be fired or sued for
neglect or charged with criminal neglect?

Just wondering because a lady is suing for $200 Million because a tree fell on her.
