Adult Friend Finder Provides - NO Support For Affiliates... WHY??

I created an account on AFF a long time ago and recently I just started pushing them and straight away started making sales (I thought "great").

Then out of nowhere I get emails about tax forms.

I've replied to them about these forms, no answer. I keep getting threats now that they will suspend my account and will not payout if I don't provide them.

So I've faxed them the form twice, I have emailed them over and over and still no reply. This has gone on a long time now, and no excuses will make up for it.

For a company with 10,000s of affiliates why are they so shit? I'm forced now to stop all traffic and to not work with them. I know if I was an investor in AFF I would be kickin asses, affiliates are the whole back bone of their network. You get the impression that their support team is too busy jacking off to members pics .

Has anyone experienced this with them? Or is my review the only bad one?

I faxed over w9 docs today as well, you would think it would be someone there to collect and update these forms since they are required by us government, and losing/mishandling people personal tax data is not a headache im sure they need. I dont send them very much traffic though, and i was lazy to send mines in all fairness so i will give a few days.

Nice dating offers at: Crakrevenue in fact there's multiples offers on one single check (or payment). They also have an amazing tracking system for campaign!

AmeliaG 04-15-2013 08:19 PM

My experience was that Penthouse/AFF seemed to get a lot of signups and zero dollars.

Your experience may vary, but my experience has also been that those guys always have some excuse why they have to pay late on the tiniest amounts of money and I finally decided to stop chasing them down every time they owed me a check.

Their accounting staff says things about US tax law which my accountant assures me are crazy untrue and the Penthouse/AFF people just always seem to have some excuse why they can't pay right now.

My experience working with AFF is GOOD, just a bit issues but were resolved, the tax form procedure is a little complicated but it you'll be fine...

Try resetting your password, that is a process and a half.

dog-tag 04-16-2013 08:41 AM

Cheers for all the replies everyone, really appreciate it guys!

I already promote Crak, but their dating offers don't convert for me, the cams are great and the support is really good too though. Babs is very nice to deal with.

I'd well believe it, I struggled to just make simple campaigns. They have loads of great banners etc but then the simplest of things are overly complex.

I've been fortunate enough to never have a network screw me around. Touch wood they won't play any silly games. If I do have any problems or want a payout increase I certainly have no faith in them. Easily the worst support by a huge margin.

I'm still not sorted out, and my own impression off AFF is thus so far -
1.) Their programmes convert well and payouts are good.
2.) Loads of promo material, the best I've seen in fact, very impressive!
3.) They don't offer any support. They're like an unmanaged dedicated server, you're totally on your own, so if you need a patch or any advice then bye bye buddy.
4.) Crap payment methods. I don't know if I got a real reply or an auto-response, but I submitted a ticket about payment methods and the reply was pretty damn rude and condescending. Was very surprised by it.

As an honest affiliate, I don't feel valued and my traffic is not appreciated in the slightest. No matter how much money I'll make with AFF I won't ever recommend them or have any loyalty to them, and I think that's a real shame for such a big network.

helterskelter808 04-16-2013 09:33 AM

Crap payment methods? AIUI they do wire, check, ACH, Payoneer and even Paypal.

Really? I thought it was only check. I'd love a Paypal option...

helterskelter808 04-16-2013 10:26 AM

Hmm. Maybe they've changed it. I'm pretty sure they had Paypal as an option, though I never used it myself. It's been some time since I last signed into my account, and since I received a payment from whatever stray sources, but they were the payment options I think I remember.

I used to get those emails about them not sending payment until I send in some form of ID. I finally sent in a driver's license, never received a response to that email or follow up emails and kept getting the emails saying to send in ID. Eventually I just gave up. I am going to have to dig up my account details and give it another try to get paid. I don't even know what I'm owed, but I assume it is something since I was receiving those emails.

I just looked up my account info and found one of my old "Your affiliate payment has been declined" messages and forwarded it to ff_affiliatebrokers at ffn dot com. Is that still where these sort of me ID submissions should be sent? I think I am owed about $96 and minimum payment seems to be $50.

New paid signups have been way down here in the last eight months for everything but Cams.com. That said I recently tried another dating provider and I discovered that they shaved 80% of my uniques so I've stopped that little experiment. It seems the entire adult dating market has collapsed for affiliates as compared to where it was a couple years ago. It's either shaving or things just aren't selling.

I saw the crap with the payments and taxes coming so I sent in my info as requested. I haven't had any problems and have never had a check come more than three days late. I've never had a denied payment either. I mainly do revshare so maybe that has something to do with it? I don't know.

Who is your rep? Contact them directly via skype or icq...

For those people mentioning lack of support from FFN: We have many, many employees who make themselves available by IM and on the boards and of course by email. You are also welcome to call the office directly during PST business hours. Please reach out to someone directly if you feel your email has disappeared into a black hole. Being the internet and spam filters what they are and work hours what they are, this does sometimes happen to the best of us.

Just to update this thread -

Kalyn was very nice and sorted this whole thing out for me. There's a big difference between Kalyn and ticketed "support".

Before now I had no affiliate manager assigned to me, but now Kalyn is assigned to me, which is a great relief.

So far I'm still seeing pretty decent conversions pushing fbhookups. Before this I used to use loadedcash but they completely stopped converting and for no reason at all. Paul Benoit has offered me some generous payouts though on PPL basis so I still cant knock LC for that. Paul is a clever guy too, so I'm looking to working with him again.

My current impression of AFF now is -

If you have small traffic (one sale a day) then you won't be really valued and you won't get the "big fish" payouts. I think the little guy (after testing for a month) should move off to a CPA network like peerfly, and get themselves a nicer payout bump there.

If you have medium traffic (4-5 sales a day) then AFF is for you. You'll get a decent payout, affiliate manager, loads of promo tools and nice conversions.

If you have big traffic (+10 sales a day) then I'd worry about FFN. Just from reading around and seeing my own situation, I don't think I'd risk doing any media buys or sending any big amounts of traffic. I just don't have enough faith in them to keep their end of the deal.

Those are just my own thoughts and opinions, I would recommend at least testing AFF if you haven't before, but just bear in mind what I said above.

Colmike9 05-04-2013 03:47 AM

That is exactly what happened to me with another company and cost me a few thousand.. :(

signupdamnit 05-04-2013 04:08 AM

dog-tag, I've read many of your posts on another forum. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Yes I've seen the same thing with loadedcash. It's old news though as they've been bad for me for over a year. AFF I think might depend on which affiliate manager you get. I've never had any problems. New sales are down a bit from before tho.

5 years ago now...

GonZo 05-04-2013 04:27 AM

arock10 05-04-2013 06:02 AM

I like how AFF just sent me a Paypal payment containing the subject "ffadult"

Seriously, Gonzo? Sean gets back from lunch every day. :)

Elli 05-04-2013 10:23 AM

Thank you for updating your experiences, Dog Tag! Yes, having a manager definitely helps. To anyone who has a new account or is thinking of getting on at AFF/FFN, please feel free to contact any of the staff with any questions you have. Find us on the boards or ask your friends who they deal with or just call the office. We are here to help you make the most out of your traffic! Don't be scared :)

pr0phet 05-04-2013 01:17 PM

It's amazing what a black hole of non support their icq is

helterskelter808 05-04-2013 02:06 PM

AFF has live support on their affiliate area. Can't say how good it is, but it's there.

And I do wish people wouldn't talk about how they've been ripped off by programs without saying what those programs are.

Seriously, what is the fucking point of that?

I don't know how good or bad it is now, but in my experience from 2 years ago and older, the best way to get support from AFF was... posting at GFY :2 cents:

Seriously, without posting at GFY, I never, ever, EVER got a single answer from AFF support's regular contact. Never. I posted at GFY and Elli jumped, and that's the only way to get support from AFF. At least in my experience, and again, don't know if it improved now, maybe they did.

I do try to watch the boards closely for any cries for assistance.

FFN does not hide, though. Our office is open during regular office hours, and a phone call should get you directed to someone who can help with your problem. We even have a toll-free number inside the US.
