What is your greatest Video Game Memory?
Whether it be that time you got 99 men on Super Mario Brothers; actually playing a Vectrex; burning your first Utopia Load Disk; or the first time you played Halo.
I am making a collection of best video game memories and moments and would love the input of fellow GFY'rs who I know are usually witty and intelligent (! WARNING: Ass Kissing Attempt !) My personal favorite memory....MASTERING THE OLD ORANGE COLORED STRIP POKER GAME ON ATARI 800. |

Humm, that is funny because I was amazed the first tome I played Pac Man. I thought is was such a cool game.
the truth is I was so clueless. I sometimes am asked to sit in and Gran Tor auto race (PS2) with my daughter. |

Although many true diehard video game enthusiasts might not consider this to be a true video game.
I do have a blast with Microsoft Flight Simulator Professional |

I remember playing Dragon's Lair when it first came out. The graphics were way beyond anything else available at that time.

When I had my nintendo and the original Mario. I was in a level which turtles walk down these stairs and if you jump on it and stay on it for countless minutes you get a crazy amount of lives, and I actually did it. It was a joyous moment in my young life.
|
Playing "Hunt for Red October" on my Commodore 64 for 20 hours straight to beat it.
I still think that was one of the best video games ever made. |

I don't know I just think it was one of the best RPG's ever released. If you dont have it I suggest you grab the ZSNES emulator and the chrono trigger rom. :thumbsup |
I had played Super Mario 2 all the way through and had just got to the final battle with big boss Wart. My mom got home from work and shut the game console off and said "I'm sure you've played enough video games for the day."
:( THANKS A LOT MOM!!! :BangBang: |
When I was young I would play Metroid on Nintendo for days. I loved it because it was sooo extensive and made you think. Zelda as well...
About 4 or 5 years ago when Unreal came out I can recall pulling all nighters playing with just a few other people on this map called DM_City, which was taken from the Intro on Unreal. Its fucking HUGE and would allow you to travel to places that noone would ever go. You could stay in there for hours/days/weeks and the level would never reset. Just keep going and going and going.... It was crazy... |
First time I played Soldier of Fortune multiplayer demo on my new pc which was coming from a 486 to a p3 with a 32mb video card - it was also the first time I ever played multiplayer and what a game to experience it in...
it was the first thing I played on the new computer after reading abotu sof... SOF Rulez |

Getting over 1 million points on the old Asteroids game. I was with my friend at a 7-11, and I swear that he musta read every magazine there while I played :)
|
I reached 1 million in Tron Deadly discs (Intellivision) :Graucho
Oohh.. and also defeated the Nazis in Cinemaware's Rocket Ranger (Amiga 500). If you don't remember, it was impossible to save the damn game.. I almost started crying when I finished it. |
jumping so far i landed outside the screen in "motor bike" (i think) on the colecovision (not sure about that either)

1972.. Magnavox Odyssey .. Ping Pong... The beginning of it all.. :)

And I would have to say the most memorable moment was getting my first Atari. I was just a little kid, but I will never forget hooking it up and playing my first video game at home. It was Space Invaders. That was pure bliss.
A close second would be the first time I played a MUD against other real people on the Downtown BBS. Another very memorable moment was my first online Quake deathmatch. |
Beating Halo on the hardest difficulty with my girlfriend.
|
I think my very first really awesome memory of gaming has to be Pirate's Gold.. that game was the bomb!
I think the next would have to be some of the gaming tourneys I played and won... Duke Nuken, Heretic, Warcraft, etc etc... I miss those days. |

However, at some point, you could get so many free ships racked up that you could actually take a break for a few minutes and just let some of them die, and then come back and go some more :thumbsup |
Robbing the Turtle in Nintendo-Super Mario Brothers
on one of the levels, if you jump on a turtle just right, you trap him against the stairs and will begin bouncing on him many, many times... which gives you multiple lives. I did this by accident, I think I had an orgasam when it happened. |
Figuring out the last puzzle spelled INFINITY on Ultima 4. Hardest fucking game I've ever played.
|
Can't forget Leisure Suit Larry and Wolfenstein.. Those games kicked ass..
