Steve Driver, Samrai Sword Weilding Murderer, Ends His Own Life
Porn actor suspected of murder jumps off cliff, dies after daylong standoff with police
June 5, 2010 | 7:15 pm A porn actor suspected of fatally stabbing a former co-worker and wounding two others during a violent rampage died Saturday after he jumped off a cliff after a dramatic, daylong standoff with police in which he threatened to kill himself with a samurai sword. Stephen Clancy Hill, 34, spent about eight hours on the edge of a rocky cliff in Canoga Park surrounded by police and talking to crisis negotiators. With dusk approaching and Hill continuing to threaten to kill himself, members of the Los Angeles Police Department's elite SWAT unit tried to subdue and apprehend him, using some sort of less-than-lethal weapon, said Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese, who oversaw the incident. Seated on the cliff?s edge, Hill threw himself over at 5:30 p.m. and suffered fatal head injuries from the roughly 50-foot fall, authorities said. Albanese declined to discuss the specifics of the weapon used and the plan that had been devised to capture Hill. ?He was bent on taking his own life,? Albanese said. ?It?s very unfortunate. We wanted this to end a different way.? The long standoff began about 9:30 a.m. when a caller alerted police after spotting Hill?s blue 1998 Toyota RAV4 in the 8800 block of Azul Drive, said LAPD Officer Bruce Borihahn. Officers called the SWAT team and negotiators after Hill made his way up the cliff, where he stood with a sword in hand, pointing it at his chest, Borihahn said. It was not known whether the sword also was the murder weapon used in Tuesday's attack. Hill had been at large since he allegedly used a samurai sword to attack several employees at Ultima DVD Inc., a video distribution facility in Van Nuys where he did production work and apparently lived, police and prosecutors said. Investigators said Hill allegedly attacked one man in a back room of the business, and then turned toward two colleagues who had rushed over to help the man, swinging the weapon repeatedly and gashing both of them. The three victims were rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where Herbert Hin Wong, 30, of Canoga Park was pronounced dead, police said. A second man was treated and released, while the third victim remains in the hospital, Borihahn said. Wong, a native of China, acted in adult films under the name Tom Dong and appeared with the accused killer in several films. Investigators are trying to determine if Hill may have been angry with his colleagues after being informed that he was being fired from his job and evicted from his living quarters. Hill, of Riverdale, Md., was charged Friday with one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder in connection with Tuesday?s attack, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney?s office. Hill, who performed under the name Steve Driver, had a previous conviction for assault with a firearm involving an instructor on a Maryland college campus in 1998, according to sources familiar with the investigation. He had threatened a teaching assistant with a handgun if he did not get an A in a class, according to a 1999 article in the Washington Post about the incident. Hill allegedly told the instructor he was ?a mobster and would dismember the instructor's body if he didn't get the grade.? During the trial, Hill testified that he threatened to kill the instructor after the teacher requested oral sex, which the instructor denied, according to the article. |
Wow they have video of him falling!

Well he should have jumped 1st.
|
Quite tragic for all concerned.

"threw himself off"....?
More like, the police hit him with a taser and he fell to his death. So if we strip away the public relations spin, the police killed another person. |
Wtf :1orglaugh

I see taser and I see him pushing himself off the cliff. Great fucking editing. |

Police = Murderous cowardly thugs |
I like the way they edited in the firemen to make it look like they were trying to save his life.
Maybe it was just a body double. |

Police = State funded thuggery. Only thing that surprises me here is that they didn't take the opportunity to beat him with night sticks before they killed him. Cops do enjoy dishing out a good beating on people.

Police should have shot him in the head immediately and saved the 1 hour standoff.

And this cements my point. If the guy really wanted to off himself, he had all day to do it. Significantly, the guy didn't end up dead until the police shot him in the back with a couple of tasers. "Police said Hill jumped, but also added it was unclear what caused his death." - source= CNN Already well into the coverup. Another one swept under the rug. Yay police! Let's give them another fucking medal to pin on their chests for being so "brave" in driving a clearly disturbed man, that probably needed professional mental help, over a cliff. |
hm? ?

sorry...but who cares how he died...another POS off this planet...should of been manly enough to kill himself after he attacked his coworkers
|
from my perspective with that amount of witnesses present, news crews and media covering...it would be near impossible to get away with a cover-up of any sort. i mean hey, they have the full "death scene" live on video
they basically went with the wrong official police statement...just shitty pr. now this would have pleased the human rights activists - "faced with the possibility of being captured, the cowared was tasered and attempted to elude police by escaping off the side of the cliff...resulting in death" dude didn't want to be tasered so took his chances on a 50 foot fall. it's not like they pushed him or the force from the taser caused him to fall...he basically scooted off the cliff, samurai sword in hand |

How did he wind up on the cliff to begin with..was he there to try and get the courgage ot jump or was he just conrnered by polce there?......i didnt see anyone jumping..i saw a person on the edge of a clif tryin got avoid the tasers/police..i dont think he relized this action would lead to his own death...on the other hand..nobody has mentioned the people he attacked..there condition or what arrangments are being made for there recovery :2cents

Go America! :thumbsup |
Amputate your head... I do disagree with most of your posts in general but I think you are right on with this! :thumbsup
The police are supposed to just get the guy in for questioning and take to court, NOT KILL SOMEONE! He didn't rush at a cop with a samurai sword, he just sat on the cliff. And btw look at videos of people getting hit with tasers, they kind of fall or flail around weird because THEY CANT CONTROL THEIR OWN BODIES!!! now imagine the force of two tasers? Did he jump? Or did his legs collapse and his body spasmed him off the cliff? I think the latter. And ontop of all this, tasers CAN kill people, the police have no business shooting people with tasers if they can help it, LET ALONE TWO TASERS!!!!! :2 cents: |

Those cops knew what they were doing. Just look at the way they all rush up on him. That's intimidation enough to jar someone, but then you add a couple of tasers.... |
