It makes me so fucking angry that everyone yells PHOTOSHOP these days - especially when they have no idea what they're talking about. It's a published phenomenon, incidentally - that people assume they're experts or knowledgeable, simply because they DON'T have the requisite knowledge to make a judgement. Fuuuuuck. They're called mammatus clouds. http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/nebraska/college-view.jpg http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/nebraska/fr...-the-trees.jpg http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/nebraska/looming-presence.jpg Source: http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/nebraska/ju...-mammatus.html Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammatus_cloud |

The original studied behavior was that real experts in a field would consider themselves to have an 'average' knowledge of it, whereas someone who knew nothing, or less, would consider themselves 'above average' - reasons being, the true experts understand the depth of the field, and can realistically place themselves in relation to that. And so the internet heralds a swathe of 'experts' - people who, with no justification or basis to pass judgement on subjects - do, and do so most viciously. The whole 'photoshopped' thing is also amusing, in a sad way - especially when people post it under videos. Photoshopped? Perhaps you mean after effects, or combustion, or any other number of composition / post programs. I've had bizarre arguments with people online where I've posted a photo that I took, and have been told by 'experts' that it was fake, and taken in totally another place. Hey, just last week I was told by an 'expert' that a picture that a lovely fake popshot photo I'd made had been made by someone else. Am I too young to bemoan the younger generation? :( |
