Why would you vote for Obama?
Would like to get back to Obama opinions for a quick second.
I read alot of articles, News, and some boards pro Obama and not. Here's my fucking problem... Obama's wife publicly stating "This is the first time I'm proud to be an American"... meaning her husband is now a canditate. Freudian slip in my opinion... this is our potential first lady. I don't see too much talk about this one and think it should be reiterated. Let alone Obamas' credentials, shady affiliations, 95% population will get tax cuts (bullshit... credits aka welfare), the squeeze on entrepenuers (btw... these are the people who stimulate the economy with jobs)... it just goes on and on. |
already voted early ballot:thumbsup OBAMA '08

I already voted as well and I voted Obama because he is the best man for the job and I love my country to much to see it go down the toilet so ask yourself this... What is stronger... your hatred of Obama or your love for your country If you love America.....and want to see her recover and prosper Vote Obama 08:2 cents: |

The main body of my post talks about his wife... WTF. I love this country and a potential first lady who can finally say she is proud is really fucked up. |
She was most likely taking a jab at Bush, meaning she was not proud of the direction he took the country over the last 8 years.
Not the wisest thing to say, but I think it is clear what she meant. |

Might I suggest checking out this thread?

For me the choice is pretty simple.
Obama offers a different voice. Bush and the republicans have held the white house for the last 8 years and have had both houses of congress for 6 of those years and 10 of the last 12 years. After all that time they haven't seemed to have done much other than get us in a war we shouldn't be in, shoot the deficit through the roof, destroy the economy (I know they are not the only ones to blame, but when the team doesn't play well you fire the coach) and greatly divide this country. I'm ready to go down a different path. To me McCain is a terrible manager. He has revamped his campaign staff 2 or 3 times just in the last 6 months and constantly seems to pick people who are not right for the job. Then he picks Palin who, frankly, scares the shit out of me. He clearly doesn't lead well and seems to make rash, hail mary pass type decisions. McCain has also done 180 from the guy he was just 4-5 years ago and that also troubles me. On the contrary Obama has run a great campaign and has seemed to lead his group well. To me being president is all about surrounding yourself with good people, managing them well and using their input to make decisions. Obama seems to be the better of the two at doing that. I also like the idea that much of the world seems to like Obama. He would instantly have favor with these countries while McCain may have to spend time convincing him that he isn't a Bush clone. Another reason for me picking Obama is the supreme court. There are 3 judges who are in their 70's now and might be ready to retire. 2 of those 3 are more liberal types and one is a conservative. If all three retire/die/get ill or whatever in the next 4 years and have to be replaced McCain might fill all three seats with very conservative judges and we could see things like Roe V Wade overturned. I prefer my supreme court with a mix of both conservative and liberal judges on the bench and Obama would provide that. My last reason (at least that I can think of right now at 3am before I head to bed) is that he will have the house and senate controlled by democrats. It is possible that the senate will actually have 60 democrat seats. This means something might actually get done because the democrats would have enough votes to break any filibuster that the republicans might do. I hope they don't use that power to pass too many bad laws and do stupid shit and I'm sure they will do some things I don't agree with but the last 8 years has been one party trying to block the other party and it seems like nothing gets done until there is a crisis. Anyway, these are some of my reasons. |

One "fact" is Obama's relationships. When have we had a President proven to have known relationships with terrorists? then deny (lie) about it. "Unfortunately for Senator Obama, what might only stink in Chicago - a relationship with an ex-terrorist who had an authoritarian agenda in mind for Chicago school kids - is far more damaging on the national political scene." |
I'm voting Obama, because he isn't a Republican.
Want change? Then why send the same party back into the White House? |
at this point in election dramas, I have decided to vote for Obama almost just because if he wins all the racists in this nation will be exposed... already happening when you see Obama ahead, the racists are coming out all over like crazy.
I am amazed at the people making comments who are insecure about having a "black" President... it really is wild. |

Just like Obama saying we have 57 states by mistake - do you really think a man as intelligent as he is really thinks that? Or McCain saying he won't meet with the President of Spain? At the end of the day, we all seem to think that just because these people are political figures, means they lose their "people" category. Humans make mistakes. And f saying dumbass things was enough to keep people out of office, how did Bush get elected and then re-elected? I mean, if there is enough material to fill three fucking books, you figure he'd at least be kicked out of office by now: http://www.amazon.com/George-W-Bushi.../dp/0743222229 http://www.amazon.com/More-George-Bu...d_bxgy_b_img_b http://www.amazon.com/George-W-Bushi...d_bxgy_b_img_c |
I wouldn't.

Certainly, if he wanted to, the last debate gave him two separate possibilities of using the race card...1.) When McCain called him "that one"; 2.) When McCain told the only black guy in the audience that he probably has never heard of Fanny Mae or Freddie Mac And to be perfectly clear - there are lots of people that are not voting for him because he is half black. But when he gets into office, I see him doing more good for those people than McCain could do in 20 years of office. To answer the OP - One word - Palin. Putting all my other reasons aside, I stopped trusting McCain's judgment when he picked Palin as his running mate. Whatever he, or the Republicans, want to say, we all know in our heart of hearts that he picked her for votes, and not for anything else. Had he picked a legitimate VP / successor, my vote wouldn't have been swayed so quickly. I mean, it's not like being the VP means you call a lot of shots...but she'll be calling enough that it scares the hell out of me what some of the shit she has on her agenda will do to the country. Maybe if McCain would address "the Palin question", and tell us exactly what she will be doing, and how/why she is capable of doing that/those things, I'd feel a little more comfortable with it. And secondly - God forbid McCain gets elected and has some health complications, and that no-nothing, hockey mom is put in charge of our country. There is no denying McCain is an old man -he'll be 73 next year. Most 73 year olds that I come into contact with are barely capable of pissing on their own, let alone leading the most powerful nation in the world out of economic and social despair. So I definitely give McCain tons of credit, and pay him great honor that he is as capable as he is, but look at pictures of Bush in 2000 vs. today. Or Clinton before he assumed office, and after. T he office of the president ages you a ton, and puts all kinds of mental and physical strain on your body. I just don't have faith in McCain being able to hold up the entire term. |

The problem is she did say it and it stemmed from somewhere. She graduated highschool in 1982 I think... that's 26 years as an adult. It's a red flag. I'm not harping on the slip of the number of states, or Obama calling John... Jim during the debate and a slew of others by both candidates. |

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2...ill_ayers.html Factcheck seems to say that McCain and Palin's attacks are pretty much baseless. Did he know this guy? Sure. Did they "pal around" or were they "friends" no. Does he support this guy? No. So in short I would say I am much less worried about his "relationship" with this guy that I am with say Bush's family relationships with the leaders of Saudi Arabia. |

I understand that as a republican, you're jumping on the bandwagon and this seems like all the strategy the Reps have left to change the momentum, because everything else is just not working. But what gets me is do you even think about what you're saying? Blind partisanship without thinking for yourself whether you're a Dem or Rep is just stupid. That's like watching a bunch of your friends jumping off a roof and you're just following them blindly because they're doing it. Blind partisanship simply does not work and does not do anyone any justice, which is why I'm independent.. |
who cares what his wife said or says, and I personally don't see anything wrong with what she said in the first place. I am an American and I think it's one of the most pathetic countries on the planet, what have we done to be so proud of? We stole the land live on, we meddle in other people business, we're mostly fat, and pretty under educated, extremely lazy, we go into other countries and kill them for no reason what so ever, I could go on and on. USA! USA! USA!
