Will Biden step down as VP

Seems like a lot of rumors are swirling he will be stepping down and Clinton will replace him. What do you all think will happen if these rumors turn out to be true?

This is the most recent unconfirmed report/rumor I have received about Biden stepping down from the ticket, and the first I've circulated. It's crystal clear that Biden is a liability to the Democratic ticket, and Hillary would bring scorned radical feminists back into the Democratic fold. (I'd wager that Hillary & Co. would not vote for an Obama/Biden ticket, allowing McCain to win so Hillary can run on her own in 2012.)

The question would then be, if Hillary becomes the Democratic VP nominee, and Obama/Clinton win, does Obama suspect her plan to run against him in the 2012 Democratic primary?

Let me share some info with you that I have gotten from excellent sources within the DNC: On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.

There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info. Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this - the "health problem" cited in those articles was an aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.

However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go.

i dont think this would happen...it would show instability

kane 09-19-2008 02:25 AM

It would make Obama look very desperate. I would think he would do it before the VP debate. If Biden goes to the debate and doesn't do very good then he steps down it will look really bad for the ticket. It might work to bring some of the scorned Hilary supporters back, but I think it would drive away some of the independents. The only way I could see him doing this is if by then he is a long ways down in the polls and as of today he is back on top in most of the polls so I would be shocked if he did this.

Ring wing radical Republican talking points just to stir up the base. You stupid idiot fucks.

cwd 09-19-2008 07:27 AM

Yeah, I was reading about that rumor on a website this morning...Biden is much more qualified than Palin, yet he is getting nothing in the press. Maybe something will play out after their October 2nd debate, which I would think Biden should crush her in.

Agent 488 09-19-2008 07:31 AM

biden is scum.

I really don't see what is wrong with Biden. The guys seems to be a real person rather than a washington elite whom has used his position for personal gain like 99% of the rest of the govt.

The guy rides the fucking train for gods sake. Just because he's not a flashy name or rich he's bad for the ticket?

BlackCrayon 09-19-2008 07:35 AM

If 'scorned feminists' are going to vote republician because there is a woman on the ticket, they are complete morons and voting against everything hillary stood for. fuck em.

ninavain 09-19-2008 07:42 AM

Your sources are as backwards as you. Did you notice Obama rising in the polls thanks to the help of Sarah "liar Liar" Palin and John McInsane. Obama doesn't need Hillary now to win.. He's already winning

I like Biden as well. But if this is in the cards the ONLY way to sell it would be health related that his doctors for some reason advised him to step down. Long shot for sure, but this has been one crazy election cycle so who knows!

Personally I am scared of the idea of Obama dropping Biden for Hillary. I think it would seal the election for the Democrats. Hillary shores up all of Obama's weaknesses. She appeals to working class white men, middle class women and hispanics. I don't see how McCain could win if Obama put Hillary on the ticket. :2 cents:

Now then the race would be fun to watch !

QuickBuck_Natalie 09-19-2008 10:09 AM

LAJ 09-19-2008 10:19 AM

Well either way there will probably be a big October surprise on either side.

I'm guessing another terrorist act thwarted.

Why don't more neo-cons like Biden? He's not elite.

uno 09-19-2008 10:30 AM

I think we are going to see a shakeup for sure somewhere

Heidi Rabbit 09-19-2008 12:24 PM

I don't think that Obama wants her down the hall! I mean she already lived there before and is clearly very strong willed! May make for an unpleasant work environment for all parties involved.

Yes, there's always a shakeup somewhere. Right now it's on Wall Street.

WarChild 09-19-2008 12:30 PM

The funny part is that if people like yourself and Simonsynster would just vote and otherwise keep your retarded mouths closed, you'd be doing the Democratic party a favour.

Intervader 09-19-2008 12:32 PM

Ron Paul :)

MrPinks 09-19-2008 12:38 PM

Actually, not all blacks are voting for Obama. There were some in the crowd today that were against Obama. Seems they are followers of this cult http://www.michaeldefeatssatan.com/

No it is all over the internet. Hard to imagine that all the websites that are talking about it can be wrong. Stranger things have happened. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Why would I want to do the Democratic party a favor? I don't fall for their bullshit like so many of you guys on here do. :2 cents:

mynameisjim 09-19-2008 01:12 PM

I Just wish Biden would be more vocal, but he misspeaks so often the Obama campaign is limiting his exposure, which is making it seem like Obama doesn't even have a running mate.

JaneB 09-19-2008 01:20 PM

From Biden's own mouth.

Biden Musings on Hillary Clinton
By John M. Broder
NASHUA, N.H. - Maybe he should have spoken up sooner.

Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., the Democrats’ vice presidential nominee, said this afternoon that perhaps Senator Barack Obama should have chosen someone else as his running mate.

Responding to a question at a town hall-style meeting at Nashua Community College, Mr. Biden said, “Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me.”

He added, “She’s qualified to be president. I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate.”

MrPinks 09-19-2008 01:21 PM

You don't fall for Democratic bullshit but you fell for this unsubstantiated rumor? :1orglaugh
