What song would you like played at your funeral?

OK...I know it's kind of a morbid question but I had a LONG discussion with one of my old friends about music (both avid music fans) and the topic came up.

I personally think, it's one of the most intuitive questions about musical taste one can be asked and my friend said, it wasn't a good question to ask at all. :2 cents:

I figured I'd ask GFY to see what you guys think :pimp

Me personally, I'd want Bob Dylan "When the Ship Comes In". (https://youtube.com/watch?v=cVbK1ODWxcA&feature=related)

So, What do you think and what song would you choose?

Fresh 07-21-2008 03:31 PM

Dust in the Wind - performed by Will Farrell

DefaultMan 07-21-2008 03:32 PM

Highway to Hell by AC/DC :thumbsup

Spunky 07-21-2008 03:33 PM

Hair of the dog by Nazereth..comes to mind :glugglug

Love it! :pimp

CarlosTheGaucho 07-21-2008 03:34 PM

My answer a couple years ago would be "Highway to hell", yeah I liked to provoke, that has changed now.

In fact no song is a good choice because those who will attend your funeral will always have it connected with your funeral.

I can't hear "Tears in Heaven" from Clapton for example cause it brings back painful memories.

kristin 07-21-2008 03:36 PM

I just want bagpipes.

True, It would be connected but as a music fan, my family would want to know what I felt represented my death.

I purposely chose a song that isn't commonly heard, but is also uplifting and not sorrowful :2 cents:

Definitely an interesting twist CarlostheGaucho that could be a subquestion...

Good form

spacedog 07-21-2008 04:50 PM

When I go, "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen will be playing full blast out of the horse drawn carriage that carries my transparent glass coffin embedded within a myriad of black roses as a troop of black New Orleans vodun dance in a marching procession reminiscent of a New Orleans jazz funeral.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 07-21-2008 04:51 PM

Happy Death Day - Gwar

midway through the instrumental break i want my casket to explode in a rain of bile, maggots, and rotting flesh as bloodsoaked belly dancers twist and turn, gracefully playing with my scattered entrails...

nikki99 07-21-2008 04:52 PM

Surprise!, you are DEAD - Faith no more
