Went Flying Today..pics

Spent about 90 minutes flying around southern Wisconsin taking pics of the flood we have here. This is a small town about 30 miles east of Madison.

Only on near-perfect weather days. I really hate crosswind landings.

It was perfect flying weather today. no wind and unlimited ceiling. Plane nearly flew itself.
Pretty close on the alt..was around 2200 most of the time.

What make and model plane is it? I accumulated quite a few hours back when I was 15 to 17. (think they only counted after I was 16? I forget too long ago) My best friends dad was a certified instructor and got me all setup. He had a Cessna (forget the model) and a LongEz. They moved away before I even got close to getting my license or anything. Sigh I miss flying. Its on my list of things to do before I turn 45. Buy a plane and get my flying license. I have 10 years I think I can do it. :)

Yes got to fly it several times, and it was.. well VERY COOL. As far forward as you sit all you can see is those small from "wings" Was quite more capable vs the Cessna. I never pushed it very hard since his dad would of prob killed me, but he did push it a bit. Was scary and fun at the same time.

For those that have never seen one. HOT linkage

I've never flown one of those but I have flown a Lancair 200,bubble top and it was brutal on a sunny day. Those clear roofs are only practical at night or a real low ceiling day.

Casa Nova 06-20-2008 09:32 AM

That's crazy, I didnt realize it was that bad.

I was flying in overcast and cloudy PA weather, but ya sunglasses are not optional. :winkwink: My grandfather and Uncle both had their pilots licenses, but neither kept up with them. Grandfather died back in 2000. He was so into planes. This thread is stirring up a lot of memories. :(

Kudles 06-20-2008 11:21 AM

Wow it's pretty but sad too.
