How long does it take to commute to your office?

One way?

Used to take me over an hour on the London 'tube', but now zero since I work from home.

How long does it take you to get to work?

st0ned 06-19-2008 12:57 AM

30-60 seconds, depending on how long it takes me to crawl out of bed and walk into my office.

qxm 06-19-2008 12:59 AM

mmm .. about 18 steps.... or 6m

MikeG 06-19-2008 01:01 AM

I'm about a block and 1/2 away from the office. 45 seconds if I hit the light

Block and a half? Sounds like walking distance...

Rochard 06-19-2008 01:19 AM

Thirty seconds.

Everyone is bitching about gas but frankly I haven't noticed. If I fill up my wife's truck once a month that's a lot for us.

Aquarius 06-19-2008 01:21 AM

Some 20-25 seconds, depends on the traffic.

DefaultMan 06-19-2008 01:21 AM

I have to commute from Burbank to Downtown LA. Good thing my schedule is whatever I want it to be so I leave late and stay late.

Axzar 06-19-2008 03:01 AM

Apparently, porn is good for the environment.

Ross 06-19-2008 05:08 AM

40 mins. Thats coz I'm a lazy bitch and it takes me 40 mins of snoozes to get my ass outta bed to get to my office in my house. If I got up right away it would take me 20 seconds tho....

Vicious_B 06-19-2008 05:19 AM

About an hour but its all back roads so I very rarely hit traffice

B2BwithJoeD 06-19-2008 05:35 AM

Used to work from home, but now go to the office. Looks like the majority work from home, so big oil energy savings here - maybe more energy use in homes as a result, but can't compare...

MichelleB 06-19-2008 05:56 AM

If I hit the lights just right it takes 12 min.

pornguy 06-19-2008 06:07 AM

Not long. But we did have a Jam in the kitchen today, and that took some time to get though.

Due 06-19-2008 06:07 AM

10 minutes walking, but I also have to go all the way to the neighbour city :1orglaugh

LauraLee 06-19-2008 06:23 AM

My commute is 10 paces to the west.

PorniSteph 06-19-2008 06:24 AM

I get at the office anywhere between 7am and 8ham... early bird, I hate getting up late in the morning :)

Spunky 06-19-2008 06:25 AM

4 minutes.I hate dealing with traffic

tranza 06-19-2008 07:17 AM

40 minutes depend of the traffic, sometimes to go back i take 1:30 and i live near!

LAJ 06-19-2008 07:39 AM

If I bolt out of bed, run down the hall, jump down the stairs and dive thru the office doors while avoiding traffic (my cats), my quickest commute is just under 6 seconds. On the slow days where my son stops me to play Candyland or with legos, my commute can sometimes take up to 20 minutes.

carol.prime 06-19-2008 11:30 AM

1 hour, most of the time 1 1/2 because of traffic that's why i need to left home early

Vick! 06-19-2008 11:42 AM

30 secs, from my bed to my office lol

DateDoc 06-19-2008 12:00 PM

18 steps up the staircase to my office

ajrocks 06-19-2008 01:17 PM

67 steps from my front door. I just counted.

MichaelP 06-19-2008 01:22 PM

From bedroom on second floor to Office in the basement ; About 2 minutes depends on the time it takes to get myself a coffee :)

dennisthemenace 06-19-2008 02:16 PM

Typically less than two minutes.

First thing in the morning about 5 minutes :)

Peaches 06-19-2008 02:18 PM

About 15 steps. If I buy the tanning salon it's exactly 7 miles from my door to it but I won't be going in every day.

I spend MUCH more time going out, going to doctor, dentist, vets, shopping, school, various lessons, getting to the freaking airport, etc. than I EVER have getting to work and back in the 15 years I've worked at home.

CDSmith 06-19-2008 02:19 PM

I timed it this morning.

8.3 seconds.

Would have been quicker but I hit traffic. Damn commuters.

Violetta 06-19-2008 02:58 PM

VeriSexy 06-19-2008 11:56 PM

Like 20 seconds or so

madawgz 06-20-2008 01:09 AM

judycash 06-20-2008 01:16 AM

ditto :2 cents:

INever 06-20-2008 01:50 AM

I voted for 1 minute cause I still have to walk over to the microwave to make a coffee, take a piss, and then take the coffee over to the laptop and desk. So about a minute or 2...
