my new toy .. GUNS anyone ?? pic
We have been having a bit of a bear problem lately and of course being with in city limits I am not allow to BLAST the shit out of the animal with real firearms ... so I decided on second best .. have some fun with the little fucker and paint him up and hopefully he will get some kind of fear of "man" before he does something stupid and I have to call fish & game to come and trap and shoot him .. something I am dead against ..
My new paint ball gun .. and in the freezer is 2 hoppers full of semi frozen paint balls .. http://promo.topchoicecash.com/files...hoto%20120.jpg |

i fucking unloaded on a big blacbear ripping up our garbage last summer with my bt4 ironhorse. the paintball gun makes for fairly effective bear control. and shooting a bear with a paintball gun is just pure fun...
|
Heh, you've never actually shot frozen paintballs, have you? Go ahead and pop some in the freezer and give it a go. Report back to us your findings :)
|
You're going to shoot a bear with a paint ball gun? Are you serious?
I don't think they shoot bears in Vancouver, I think they release them up in the mountains. Why you would risk making a bear angry with a paintball gun seems ridiculous. |

I've got a real one of those.
Its much better at killing shit & striking fear in hearts. From the motion picture... Jackie Brown "AK-47...for when you absolutely, positively gotta kill every mother fucker in the room. Accept no Substitutes." |
That will at least make you a lil bit cooler.... lmao...

Baddog ..NO i am not going looking for him .. nope .. nada .. no fucking way .. I am actually surprised I have the balls enough to think I can stand there and pop 50 or so shots off at him .. Bears+me has never been a good thing ..
Bringer .. I have 2 1/2 acres out here east of Vancouver come on out .. this has to get settled the good ol' fashioned way i guess .. bring your gear and we'll do a little hunting for each other .. or hell just a straight 10 yrd draw .. either way .. I am down .. :) cheesefrog ..... I shoot frozen paint balls all the time .. well mine don't "really" freeze solid .. they have an oil base in the paint .. and mine just get way more dense and seem to break less .. and yes I have been told hurt WAY fucking more .. plus after a good shoot out you can dump the extras into your drink to cool it down .. jk . Warchild .... I know they show you on TV News about some cute little cub they saved from a tree with fresh backed cookies or something .. but the truth is .. young bears like this one have grown up near people and never seem to develop that natural "fear" of man so they become very dangerous .. they will trap them in a can and sometime tell you they are going to relocate it .. but truth is they drive out to the dump and shoot it .. cause they know it will be back and may next time someone will be killed .. I know we are invading on their homes .. I know we are bulldozing their source of food .. yada yada .. such in life .. sorry .. and finally pr0... hrmm .. something tells me there is no waivering in your statement that you you truly do own a real AK47 .. *shivers* .. and the line from Jackie Brown is one of my favs of all time .. |
|
yeah hey jake the frozen paintball will not work... your better off getting OC paintballs (pepperballs) plus they have other projectiles that are .68 cal like paintballs...
btw I am pro paintball player on a pro team if you need anything let me know.... |

It really is one of my favorite guns (and cheapest by far). You can get a good quality Eastern European version at a gun show here in the states for $250-450. Probably less than you paid for your paintball version. Oh & you can buy an 80-round drum to go with it...for $50. http://www.imagexhost.com/images/696...0rounddrum.jpg so 320 + 50 = $370 to have enough suppressing fire to take on a small unit of armed men USA! USA! USA! :pimp:1orglaugh |
thats hot :pimp

First off, conservation officers in the Lower Mainland don't take bears "out to the dump and shoot it", period. They don't use bullets to euthanize. Secondly, many times, relocation attempts are made. You can feel free to check out some local headlines. A cub was actually killed not too long ago being relocated from a West Vancouver neighborhood, along with it's family. It died by mistake, it wasn't shot at the dump. Now, before you tell me you know better, keep in mind that my sister is a critical care Veterinarian who has spent many hundreds of hours working with conservation and rescue societys as a volunteer. I've been told by someone who's worked first hand with these animals they rescue, sometimes rehabilitate and relocate. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you weren't actually told by a conservation officer they shoot bears in the dump. This is not to say that some problem animals are not destroyed, of course that's not true. An unfortunate number of animals are destroyed, but not shot in the dump. In the future before you accuse someone of basing their knowledge on "television news", you'd better make sure your facts are solid and not some bullshit you're just making up on the spot. You'll seem less foolish then. |

We *Canadians* are SOOOO not allowed to play with the fun toys .. nothing at all "Fully automatic" .....That weapon would sure make a guy feel safe at night even in the worst neighborhood ..and well bears .. I wouldn't even use it on one .. that would just be plain unfair .. again .. WOW .. that would be interesting to say the least to shoot .... |

Reminds me of the guy in Georgia who was throwing peoples skeletons in the lake & giving the family wood ashes (telling them they had been cremated). There are always a few bad apples. :2 cents: |

Tell ya what .. I have lived in Maple Ridge for just about all of my 40 yrs .. and been personal witness to many a bear shooting ..actually inside the trap .. and from trees .. none of which i condone but it is a fact .. tell you what ..what do you think they just did with the bear they found by metrotown which was relocated out past Harrison 4 years ago .. yet made it's way all the way back to Metrotown .. we shoot bears all the time out here and th eonly person that complains is the metrosexual tree huggers .. wild animals and people don't mix .. animals always loose .. |

Conservation isn't something you just sign up for because you think the pay is good. It's difficult to get in to and the pay is NOT good. I find it hard to believe there's many true "animal haters" amongst the conservation officers. I won't discount the possibility of a few I guess, but seems like an odd career choice. Now of course some animals have to be destroyed. Some can't be relocated, or continue to come back to populated areas and end up being destroyed. Some die while being relocated aswell. The fact of the matter is, the longer a bear stays around the neighborhood, the more likely it will eventually have to be destroyed. So by buying a paintball gun, a goofy one at that, to try and scare it away because you don't want to call conservation is actually doing more harm than good. We can only hope that Einstein tries to use the painball gun from the same level and close to the bear and gets a swat across the face from a pawful of sharp claws. |

Rifles are more relaxed, but handguns are really restricted here. You need a permit to own them, of course. You need a permit to transport them, to the range and back. They must be stored locked and unloaded at all times, etc etc. If someone broke in to your house here in Vancouver, and you pulled out a handgun and shot them, you'd probably be in much more trouble for the Federal gun offenses than the burglar would be. :( |
