It's teeth pulling time!
I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. All four, but two are pretty badly impacted. Ugh. So if I'm not on icq til halfway through Saturday, you can be confident I'm curled up on the couch sucking on a milkshake.
I think the anticipation is worse than the actual procedure. Ugh. |
ouchhh be strong elli!
|
Never fun..rinse with salt water a couple times a day for the first few

i had two surgical extractions last month, i never took painkillers for either of them. people blow getting a tooth pulled way out of proportions. just make sure you don't eat anything that'll get stuck in the crater and fuck up the blood clot. i had a buddy who went like a retard and ate doritos right after getting his wisdom teeth out, and wound up getting little sharp cumbs of dorito stuck down in the clot and it fucked things up for him.

prepare for the worst breath of your life for about 3-4 weeks :)
|
Thanks for the advice and well wishes, everyone! I'm off to bed now with some tea to prepare for a busy morning!

poor-baby!!
Had two done one at a time, then two at once. There was one really bad one. My first experiences led me to the demand that I be put under for the last two - THANK GAWD!!!!! They really had to cut the top of my mouth up to get the sucker out. Hope your's go better than that last one for me. Other than that, it is no biggie. Just depends on how bad they are in there. |

Good luck, Elli... I'm sure it'll be fine provided you're not planning on doing _anything_ this weekend... be sure your dentist gives you one of those water-syringe thingies after your first couple weeks... you're gonna need it to rinse out your "holes" for the next month or three... and sometimes they forget to give 'em. |

Mine I finally got out in January and there was some bad infection. They usually don't pull them in that state but mine defiantly had to come out. :( |
Why would you wait so long? Crazy
|
4 at the same time? ... you're a trooper
|
that gotta hurt.
|
from everyone I know that had it done, outch. sorry babe
|
Sorry to hear that, be brave, it will soon be over
|
my best wishes for that project

Go in, and get it over with in one shot. |
damn
well good luck make sure youre drunk before they start pulling :) |
Best part about getting you teath pulled is the drugs they give you.
I had my wisdom done years ago. Was such a releaf as they were going to fuck all my other teath if they came up. |
Ouch... all the best
|
Had 4 done last year. You will get injected with a Huge syringue about 6 times, then you wait a little bit for the product to take effect, then he starts to work, you can hear/feel the scalpel going through and some crunches when he breaks tooth that he isn't to get out normally, see blood everywhere... but it only lasts about 10 minutes.
Close your eyes, relax. Follow they instructions they give you to rest and everything should be back to normal about 2-3 weeks after the operation. |
Mine were impacted and they had to use a chisel to get them out. That was crazy, a guy hammering into my mouth.

I waited so long because my dentist is a goof and I asked when I was 17, 18, 19, etc etc he said not to bother yet because they aren't a problem. Then at 27 he said "You better get these out before you turn 30! Why did you wait so long?" |
Good luck Elli. well, it's better to pull them out than to sacrifice for all the pains when its aching.
|
It will be over before you know it...had one of mine pulled out a couple of years ago and it wasent as bad as what I thought it would be.
All the best |
it wasn't too bad when I had all 4 of mine done. Knocked me out and gave me some pain killers.
|
tell the bastard not to waste your time with bunky T3 ""painkillers"" and to give you a prescription for a truckload of morphine!
umph oomph narf (best of luck) |
Alright, they're out. It took two hours and he pulled out all his tools like the drill and chisel and extractor and elevator and oh so much fun stuff. Now I'm sitting with ice on my face to keep the swelling down and I'm due for another T3. THanks for the positive thoughts, people!

It's going to suck like hell.
Mine were so impacted, the dentist ended up trying to drill, then wrench back and forth to make them come out. About an hour later, he got one out, and we collectively decided "fuck it" for the rest. Never did become a problem, though. |

WHAT??? You allowed them to do that while you were awake???? I would-a passed out anyway :1orglaugh
I had one that was surgically removed, so noway would I be up for that. Was really way up in there. Sure hope you don't have to suffer to much with the recovery. Those pain pills make me feel sick. Scotch = much better answer. |
Don't suck on a milkshake. Don't drink anything through a straw. You'll pull the clots out and get dry root. You don't want that. Hope you're healing nicely.

So far healing is going well! I just happen to look like a chipmunk with my face all swelled up! |
I had all 4 and an eye tooth removed in one sitting... grab your T3's and relax :)
