I just got back from FL a couple a days ago and it was a NICE break from this coldass weather...

If you're driving stay the fuck away from the clearwater US19 area its a BITCH to travel anywhere

Water was cold as hell if you want to swim... you'll have to go clear to miami or the keys to find warm water.

xxweekxx 02-08-2008 02:02 PM

im going in march, spring break..

How old to get into FL clubs? my GF only 20 im 22yrs, will she have a problem? or do i gotta get fakes

Rent a car in miami and drive down to Key West is a fun trip.

justinsain 02-08-2008 05:07 PM

Go to Orlando for a few days. Spend the day at the theme parks and go down town for clubbing at night. Then take the 45 min drive over to Daytona to spend a few days on the beach and hit their clubs at night. Never a dull moment during spring break. Try and time it for one of the events like Bike Week or the Spring Nationals. http://www.springbreaknationals.com/...=24&Itemi d=1

stev0 02-08-2008 05:14 PM

Agreed. You can hang out at the beaches in Clearwater, head south to Siesta Key in Sarasota. Go clubbing in Ybor City and visit Busch Gardens in Tampa or head east on I-4 an hour and visit Disney or Universal Studios.

Also spring training for baseball is in session and the lightning are playing hockey still until mid april.

xxweekxx 02-09-2008 08:53 AM

bump....

The Judge 02-09-2008 09:03 AM

Different. And depends what you want to do? If beaches and partying are the only thing you want then Miami can be pretty fun. Clubs are more pretentious and pricey though than Tampa.

If you want to mix in theme parks with the party and beaches and sports then the Tampa/Clearwater area is the place to be. 1 hour drive to Orlando for their theme parts plus Busch Gardens right in Tampa. Siesta Key the best beach in FL with pure fine white sand is an hour and a bit south in Sarasota. But plenty of beaches in Tampa itself.

xxweekxx 02-09-2008 11:00 AM

yea seems like ill do tampa.. but weather in tampa will be cold at night

When are you going? Mid to late march the low for the day is the mid to late 60's in Tampa. Hardly cold.

xxweekxx 02-09-2008 11:09 AM

im doing spring break.. March 14th - 22nd

If your purely wanting to do the spring break / college thing then head to Panama City, FL.

If not Tampa offers the best variety to do a lot of things.

We rented a car in Ft Lauderdale and drove down to Key West, was about $300 for the week I think. Can't remember the place we rented from, found it in the phone book.

If you fly to Ft Lauderdale it's usually cheaper than Miami, a lot cheaper than flying direct to Key West. Between two people it'll save you about $1000. It's a really nice drive too.

Quite a bit to do in Key West, lots of good bars on the island, we did a fishing charter ($1200 for 6 hours, a little pricey but fun), they've got lots of tours and stuff too.

Miami has lots to do as well, seems like everywhere you go takes forever though. I found the people in Miami weren't very friendly either, everyone is uptight and they treat you like a criminal. After dark the convenience stores do business from behind bulletproof glass, and it's the only place I've ever been where you have to pre-pay for your gas inside before they turn the pump on. Nice looking city though, we never did have a chance to hit the beaches or bars there.

xxweekxx 02-09-2008 11:29 AM

so im guessing if i stick to Tampa/orlando ill have fun..

Fuck florida, its way to hot because of global warming. Come to san diego, california for vacation

V_RocKs 02-09-2008 06:35 PM

Buy a small camera... buy a large (old analog) cell phone. Gut the cell phone and the camera. Put the guts of the camera into the cell phone. Now go and get me some candids!
