Also take into account the room you are going to be putting it in. If its a room that gets a lot of sun I would go with a LCD just to cut down the reflections. I bought a plasma and love it but the room I have it in doesnt get that much natural light.
|
Depends on
Size: > 37" = Plasma < 37" = LCD Uses: TV, DVD = Plasma Computer, Game Console = LCD |
for a TV go for Plasma
to watch movies go for LCD |
Why waste your money with a plasma or LCD?
Get a laser beam. Nothing better than a HD movie streaming directly to your brain :) |
im buying a 42'' and found some real bargins on 1080p plasmas
I watch TV and movies so I would need the best for both |
42" for TV and movies - Definitely plasma..
LCD is better for smaller sizes and for uses like connecting your PC to it or for games consoles. Of course there are always exceptions and it all depends on your budget. |
The TV/Movies thing doesn't make sense.. plasma is WAY better in every aspect (except for ghosting which it's prone to).
I had a 32" LCD for a couple of years and upgraded to a 42" plasma last year.. I'll never go back to LCD, never. The quality of plasma is awesome, especially when viewing it from angles, the image does not get washed out whatsoever |

I'm of those that can't tell the difference.
|
my gf chose by color... :)

I always figured LCDs last longer because they don't produce the huge furnace of heat that plasmas seem to make. My father runs an electronic parts distributor and tells me that he absolutely loves plasmas because the parts fry so often due to overheating, usually the day after the warranty expires, and he can't keep some parts on the shelf.

I have both and prefer my plasma to LCD, the picture is much more vibrant but the LCD is a much lighter TV and easier to mount on the wall

LCD vs. Plasma - Six things you need to know.
Cnet has a lot of stuff about this stuff. Always good to read what the experts say instead of what the gfy pseudo experts say ;) A lot of good resources out there on the net. |

i saw some amazing projectors at CES. Quality/price/size surpasses both lcd and plasma. IMHO problem is room has to be set up for it
|
I have a Sony Bravia. It's dandy.
A gf's friend had a plasma, and traded in for LCD. I do not remember his reasoning, but he's the only one I knew who had a plasma. |

I was pissed at a bad call durring the giants game :helpme:1orglaugh |
Bigger screens - plasma, plus better image in the dark or low light, better action movies and sports, better for TV
smaller screens - LCD, better for games/consoles, PC, DVDs, still photos, better image (more brightness) in light, that's why they look better in showrooms ... |
