Halcyon, what is your workout routine?
So how does a guy like me get a body like you?
Any protein/creatine/whatever else is hot right now involved? Let's hear the secrets!!! |
very good genetics.
|
First dye your hair pink. When you have done that, start another thread for step number two.
|
this thread is too gay :(
|
genetics - don't let anybody tell you different. i'm sure he takes care of himself and his diet is much better than the typical webmaster diet of 2 liters of Moutain Dew, pizza, cigarettes, potato chips but it's still 90% genetics.
|
I will go for genetics - I could work out all day and not look like that.
|
like people said, 90% of it is genetics, the rest is taking care of yourself. if you have the right build, it's nothing that push ups, pull ups, and sit ups can't keep up for you.
|
genetics, discipline, and routine.
he can't tell you. well, he could but then he'd have to hug you to death. hehe. |
I can't speak for Halcyon because I don't' know what his routine is. Maybe he always looked like he does now since he was young. But all you guys suggesting that having a lean body is mostly genetics just don't want to work out hard or eat a strictly healthy diet. Anyone can be lean and muscular to varying degrees, depending on your build, but you have to have discipline and exercise hard, lifting weights and doing some cardio and eating really well all in combination.
The proof in what I am saying is the endless examples of former out of shape, overweight people who made a startling transformation to their physiques by applying the principles of lifting weights, eating very healthy (and not overeating) and doing some cardiovascular exercise. Anyone saying you need great genetics or saying that they have slow metabolisms, thyroid imbalances or a myriad of other nonsense excuses as to why they personally can't get lean and ripped don't know what they are talking about or are downright full of shit. |

I do eat like him, I work out the same, I was even bangin' Tassy for a while. My relationship with her was very one sided. I don't even think she knew we were going out. either way, I do everything that Hal does, and I'm still overweight. |

Then there is people like me who are not fat at all, yet I go swimming and see 14yo boys with a better chest than me. It's definitely genetics. |
this thread is useless without pics

Is there any protein involved in a fit muscular body? Are you seriously asking that?

some people with bad genetics can starve themselves to anorexic levels and still have fat on their abs... the fat stays and muscle is catabolized preferentially, so that they look skinny and never achieve a ripped look no matter what they do to burn off fat |
Quote:
Are you by any chance morbildy obese? |
strong stimulants like cocaine or amphetamines have been known to override genetics in burning up body fat to ridiculously low percentages in some
|

I'm only asking, because ive seen this same exact rhetoric from lazy, obese people who didn't want to get off the couch. Instead they complained and blamed their health issues on genetics. Quote:
I have seen so many people with this mentality who have change their lives dramatically all from eating better, working out and with proper supplements. |
Go watch the episode of Bullshit where they discuss this very issue. They have doctors and even fitness people saying it's all genetics.
Some people can work out their whole lives and not look as good as Hal. Look at Jack Le Lane. I guarantee you that if you ate like him, you wouldn't be anywhere near as healthy. That dude has genes from another world. |

I dont walk around lower then 7% but in the summer i get down to 3% every single time |

Just like fat people who say its all genetics, its just as dim to say everyone can have a ripped brad pitt/hal look naturally. |
A quote from his Ambush Interview:
Discuss 'the abs'. LOL. Well, I’ll try to talk about my tummy without sounding like a prick. >From 16 to 22, I was really into weight training. I would force myself to eat and lift heavy weights and try to get as big as possible. But that was also the same time I started growing my hair out. And when you have a HUGE head of 80’s metal hair, your body looks small NO MATTER WHAT. So I came to the conclusion that big hair with abs was my best option. Luckily, I found out that my genetics and metabolism were MUCH better suited to be cut than to be big. Since then I would say that my number one workout tip has been consistency. I’ve never gone more than a month without working out. Never. And I don’t mean like triathalete training workouts, just pushups, sit ups, pull-ups, and walking. Combine that with smart eating and this is the way my body naturally falls into balance. Honestly, genetics is the main ingredient. My 64 year old dad is still fit and has pretty good abs, himself. |

I start cutting feb. 1st for the summer. My goal is 7%. |

No, you are right, the bottom line is to set realistic goals based on your own genetics.... if someone that doesn't have the ripped washboard ab type genetic is stuck on getting an 8 pack, they are just setting themselves up for disappointment... .but if their goal is to get leaner and healthier than they are now, then that is a good thing |
i dont think halcyon is even that big, just really low body fat. which isnt genetics. anyone who tells you its genetics are usually using that excuse because they dont have the willpower that halcyon has.

You being a big guy im sure has alot to do with a plethora of reasons; diet is the biggest one. I know alot about the human body - im sure you're referring to meso, ecto and endomorphs. Yes I know a thing or 2 about that. Sly is a hardcore ass guy. Im sure he's done his share of andro and all kinds of other shit. He was fucking LEAN in First Blood and that was filmed the same year (1982). Im still not sure why you're refrencing Rocky 3. I've only seen that movie once and that was 20 years ago when I was 5. |
