teach me some cool sounding impressive words to add to my vocabulary
I'de like to expand my vocabulary, and sound like a 52 year old yale professor. Teach me some cool words to say, and what they mean of course. This is a thread for the higher educated folks among us. Retards need not post. :thumbsup

"Perhaps" is a great word. "Ideally" is also good. "Respectively" - these aren't big words but a lot of people "neglect" to use them in "routine" conversations. "however" they can make "one" sound "impeccably" intelligent. :\ i tried.

Syntagma:
Means s sequence of linguistic units in a syntagmatic relationship to one another. It´s hard to find a sentence where you can use it, but it´s a word my old professor liked it very much! |

I was watching UK TV the other week, and they had one of those garden makeover shows on. The guy was using an infra red level, and referred to it as "diabolically cunning."
I just about pissed myself laughing. |
hey, i got a question for the french speakers:
there's this saying i heard a while back that loosely translates to "in memory of the stairs". it refers to that brilliant thing you finally thought to say at the bottom of the stairs AFTER your lover has thrown you out. any French speakers know this phrase? |
