It's sad Trey Hickey, but I film a ton of concerts and have contacts with everyone you can imagine.

I filmed Snoop Dogg 2 days ago.

Sad isn't it how karma can come back and bite you in the ass?

I'll be sure and spread your name around some :)

Pornwolf 08-26-2007 11:27 PM

He has money... which in the music business, unfortunately, makes even folks like Ebeneezer Scrooge immune to Karma.

So you're in vancouver?

you're proud of filming snoop dog?

he was at a ghetto part/rave in chilliwack on the 25th...

the event was thrown by some smalltime promotion company out here..

who exactly did you film snoop for?

jMEGA 08-26-2007 11:29 PM

Where you from? There are alot of good local rappers here in St. Louis that I do photos for.

You have no clue :winkwink:

I film hundreds of bands, rappers, singers blah blah all over the world. :thumbsup

will76 08-26-2007 11:35 PM

maybe you jtf and epic jim get together and make rap video ?

brand0n 08-26-2007 11:38 PM

why not just ball up 100s and throw em out the window instead?

Jennings 08-26-2007 11:41 PM

I'll lend you this though Trey, if you EVER plan on actually doing ANYTHING in music, you had best reinvent yourself.

At the top it's suits and ties.
It's alot different then what you see on tv hah.

I sat through a board meeting 3 weeks ago to go over filming details for Ozz Fest, a whopping 45 minute concert and it took us almost 6 hours complete with arial photography and blueprints of the stage just to get camera positions down.

That's what you will be dealing with.

If your not going to be a performer your going to be publicist or management or producer and trust me, even the most obnoxious artists want a professional.

Not a porn peddler.

you think you are the only one with contacts? you can kB can go jack eachother off.

money talks, bullshit walks kid.

AdPatron 08-26-2007 11:43 PM

I own a record label here in Dallas, started it in 2002. Matter of fact, selling traffic is just a side business I do.

AdPatron 08-26-2007 11:44 PM

My advice, start your own label.

You have alot to learn, you think you have money.

The bill for the last music video I was on set on was for a little over 3 million.

Have 3 million to blow?

I've filmed over 500 national recording artists in the last 14 years.

Instead of trying to act cocky, I'd suggest you start listening and start learning. You don't know it all, so take it from someone who does this daily.

:2 cents:

I only paid $5k to do a video for one of my bands, and that included the $4K for the HD video camera.

No, that's who YOU deal with. The people that hire video folks aren't the same breed as the ones who actually make the music and run the labels. Touring folks are a different breed.

Let me run it down for you just so you can have fun trying to dispute me later:

If Pimple invests in music the smart thing for him is to do it through a production company. He may take an upstart band with an engineer/producer that may have had a few indie hits OR a rap producer with an act or two and start a production company. Once that company has a hit getting buzz or airplay he will be ready to go to the labels for a deal or J/V.

Are you with me?

At the labels he will have to deal with either A&R VP's or the label heads themselves.

A&R VP's are rarely if ever in suits. Suits are only broken out for special occasions.

Label heads wear both but mostly dress down to the office.

For instance, Rick Rubin at Sony. Lyor Cohen at Warner. Monte Lippman at Universal. These are not native suit wearers.

Sure, there's the Clive Davis's (J/RCA) and the Doug Morrises(UMG) of the world that are always dressed up but if Pimperton gets that far it means he has a smash hit that's selling Extremely well... and in that case he can wear shit stained diapers with sockless Crocs in an office and still get whatever he wants.

As a matter of fact, dressing up and carrying yourself in a fake way to get into the business is not a good idea. The musicians won't trust you and neither will the DJ's and radio station people.

I'm amazed that I'm going to say this but Trey should just be himself. He'd fit in that world well.

atleast you are smart enough to know that.

wonder how i got ppl to invest over a million bucks in a project im working on.

wasnt by calling them hahahahahahas and spikz.

always remember GFY is an outlet for ppl

and hardly anyone on here is how they act in person. I woulddnt expect a surfer like jennigns to understand that though
