I can't see why you would need a firewall and an anti virus in a local and very secure network.
They probably have other ways of keeping you outside of their network.
It's not a desktop or a server, it's just a panel, using those things would just eat resources at no benefit.

The concerns appear to be justified, based on two investigations that were conducted last week by professional security firms that analyzed airline wireless LAN systems at Denver International Airport and San Jose International Airport.

Airports unfortunately have to be forced into spending money for security. :(

Yeah, its even funnier when your local ATM has a blue screen as well. However that would be more interesting if that message popped up on ATMs.. no firewall. That would be awesome!
