Guys: Do you know how to sew?
Can you fix a tear/rip, or do you have to take it to mommy?
I could do it, but that is one of the reasons I have a wife... :)
havent done it in ages, but i can do it by hand or with machine
That's what women are for...

No, sure can't fix a rip but if it was ripped other than jeans I'd probably not wear it anymore. A button I can put back on.
I can do it.

My mom had a sewing store when I was a kid..
I can sew, while getting a B.J.
Is this thread related to the 'grunt work' thread you posted earlier? If so, I am glad I didn't reply. I can sew... just glad I didn't reply.

i could probably figure it out, i had to take a class in 8th grade. i would give it to my mom to do though.
I can sew, knit and croche
Yes I am very straight, just my pops didn't have much cash when I was a kid so if I fell down and ripped my trousers playing football, I sewed em up :thumbsup The knitting I can blame on my mom. It was either knit, or hold the ball of wool |
learned how to sew while in the marines of all things.... most marines can.
I've stitched up tons of stuff over the years with the old needle & thread.
Unmanly? Better than taking it to mommy or walking around with holes in your clothes like a goombah. |
A button no worries, but a tear in a piece of clothing would take me a bit longer to nut out. We get tought basic sewing in primary school but that was yonks ago. :)

I can sew.. my mother never could sew so I had to learn haha...
I am boat builder by trade and used to work for sail maker. I any case you should not own a shirt if you can not put a button on it
I can certainly sew. I used to be able to knit and embroider too, but it's so many years since I have done either, I doubt the results would be very impressive :)
I was one of those kids who wanted to know everything and how to do everything. At the time, it didn't strike me as any more strange to learn how to use my mother's sewing stuff than it was to read my father's law books. And let me tell you, at 8 years old, 20 volumes of "The Roman Laws of Jurisprudence" are no picnic! |
thats what working and shops are for. when you ruin clothes, you go and buy some more.
Yes, I actually made my pimp outfit for the Player's Ball in New Orleans a few years back.
I can do it no problem, either with a machine or a needle, but I have no urge right now :)
My Mother and sisters could sew just about anything and I watched just enough to be able to do some simple stuff. I made the dress in this picture and it's nice to be able to go to the fabric store and spend about $12 on some fabric and make something myself as opposed to spending $120 at the mall for something I will only use once for pictures. For me it's just part of the creative process in producing an image.
