Out of all the RSS feeds offered, only 1/4 are coded right.
 

Sponsors should really take a serious look into this. You are just throwing out feeds and not validating them. You can do this easily at www.feedvalidator.org

Most of the feeds I find have minor problems that can easily be fixed by your techs. Some sponsors should probably just start over on their feeds. :winkwink:

Heck it might even be as low as 10% of good, working, true validating feeds.

i doubt a lot of sponsors will want to fess up to having non working, or half functioning feeds. Hell, some feeds even crash my DB. Now I always use www.feedvalidator.org before even trying a feed.

It's not only within the adult industry, the whole RSS thing has yet to really hit it big I believe.

have you check wegcash feeds? i'll try that later one. what sponsors has invalid feeds? hehehe sponsor won't post here for sure hehe

Sponsors also need to know the difference between "gallery RSS" and "Blog RSS". A list of galleries is nice, but it isn't RSS that most blog people can do much with. Blog RSS tends to be a little more rich, with things like images, text, and links.

Some are very good (I like the nubiles one, even with a few too many links in it) and I really dislike a bunch of them out there.

I agree about the difference in 'blog'. Some have no clue at all....

I like nubiles also, still not validating with them though. One thing they could also do is make the images link to the sites. Been doing that manually lol :2 cents:

Ok guys im putting us out there. We just created our RSS feed and I want to know what you think. I ran it through the validator and got an error on the date but other than that I am pretty proud of it. So what do you think enquiering minds want to know :)

All of the JaymanCash feeds are validated through feedvalidator.org before we release them.
We also feed out all updates from the member's area, with the option of custom CSS styling, image cropping to your specifications, and choice of feed [video or pictures].. and if we do fuck up, you can just send us an email ;)

looks fine with me but the more text the better. :) as in more text. webcams.com has good feeds too but not sure if its validates. the feeds are rich in texts and they have feeds for almost every categories although when i checked some of the categoories they have the same model ie: blonde category you will see a milf that is blonde and you will ssee her on milf category something like that so you better slim down the categories you will have to us for your site. but sill good!

I communicated with Nubiles for thier blog entries... the reasons they don't validate is the use of some characters over ascii128, particularly using a weird character in place of a ' character. Otherwise, their stuff works out. Hopefully they will work on getting rid of those issues over time.

guess i better send you an email. :winkwink: there was a small problem with Cum on Candi's feed I believe. Feed is still valid, just one minor error I saw.

anyhow, back to the point. Would be nice to keep this bumped all week so that the sponsors who do care. Will look into this.

I'm actually curious who the "techs" are developing these feeds.

For one, it's just text, formatted a certain way - You have the XML tags that surround properly escaped "content" text. How hard is that if you control the content going into it?

Granted, properly escaping some characters is a nightmare, but in regard to the skeleton xml and controlling the characters thrown into that skeleton, I don't really see an issue.

You guys would be suprised how many RSS feeds aren't 100% compliant to the standard. For example one error right off the bat is a typo in the WP-RSS2.php that comes packed with wordpress. That pops a flag right away and it's a 2 second fix that most sponsors tend to ignore.

our feeds have been valid since day one, you can tell which sponsors actually put the time into their feeds their a few now that are doing them right and it's about time that everyone stepped up to the plate and made sure their shit works correctly.

i don't understand why any sponsor would release a feed that isn't up to par, especially with the amount of critiscism being put on sponsor feeds.

i say this in every thread about rss feeds and hosted blogs that i post in if you have the traffic and want a custom RSS solution for your blog or site just contact us, we work with our affiliates to make them the most profit from their traffic.
