Howard said that last quarter Sirius made a profit for the first time since they launched
That's makes no sense...
I don't understand how that is possible unless they are operating on the Enron accounting model. Got me scratching... |
We watched his Private Parts video again the other night, funny as hell!
That's way too much capital to have invested in a company like Sirius. I predict he'll be selling most if not all of that stock soon.
wow thats alot of money!
He also got a 200million bonus before he even went on the air last year because so many people signed up
If I were him I'd be selling alot of that stock. it's up 1.8% today. still under $4 though

I'm sure customers will increase. Maybe XM and Sirius need to merge.

it is smart. He is their marketing. just yesterday I saw a store display with him all over it.
Think about it. some one is thinking of buying the radio and they are standing in front of a display they have a choice between two. One has a star and the other you don't know. who do you go with? The star. The article says they increased subscribers by greater than 2 million above what the analyst expected. This game is all about market share. Once you win the market then you cut costs. Think of amazon.com |

Oh and its not 12.95 times 6,000,000 ..for instance i have 3 subscriptions and 2 of them are about $6/month each
he's one of the best entertainers ever. He deserves what he gets paid, every cent. His listeners are extremely loyal, and I know a lot of people who just got Sirius just for him.
his Howard TV on demand is great also
I got to get sirius I miss him
what a waste of money to some clown
Howard the Clown used to be Bozoo |

its obvious they're making mad money off him... otherwise they wouldn't give him any bonus

He better be careful. Captain Kirk was getting paid in stock, and got fucked.

I listen to him every day. He was saying that around 6,000 people a day sign up for Sirius. That's pretty impressive.
If I were Sirius the one thing I would worry about is the fact that he is getting older and there is no telling how long he will stay in the game. He has 4 years left on his contract. If they average 1.5 million new subscribers a year they will add another 6 million before his contract is up and bring their total to around 12 million. The question is how many of them will stick around if he decides to retire and stop doing the show? I think they are working now to add stuff that people will want in order to avoid a huge drop when he does retire. They added NASCAR and NFL and they are always putting new stuff on there so I think they are trying to use Stern to bring them in and then use the other stuff to help keep them. I'm not sure how well it will work, but he can't go on forever so they need to do something if they are going to stay alive when he does leave. They have to be worried though. Many of the radio stations he was on when he was on normal radio have all but disappeared since he left them. |
