Almost 1/3 of Americans Don't Know 9/11 Year
A phone surrvey of 1,002 people in the United States has found that 30 per cent didn't know what year the terrorist attacks occurred on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The poll was published in the Washington Post.
The attacks, which occurred in 2001, killed 3,000 people when terrorists rammed planes into the aforementioned buildings. Of those who couldn't remember the year the attacks occurred, 48% were aged between 55 and 64. Of the 30% who got the answer of the year wrong, 16% said they had no idea, 6% gave a year previous to 2001 and 8% gave a later year. source: news.yahoo.com |
no fucking way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whenever i think of that year i think of that attack!
30%? was that survery for real and done fairly? |

oh get real.. these polls are about as stupid as their results.. Typically they are never close to the truth.. They just go for the sensationalism for the headlines. It's just like the other day with the "terrorist" deal in the UK.. Fox news had some animation and their catch phrase was "Terror in the Sky" I mean I really wonder how long they had been waiting to use that animation, because you know the sick fuckers had it made up already waiting for a plane to get blown up. |
37% of Europeans (Copper Study) cannot locate Mexico on a map. Two out of three can't name all the North American countries.
Oh, and (this from the Feiffer and Roque Study, Second Edition) -- 65,000,000 Americans voice "strong support" for George Bush. Just under 80,000,000 Europeans voice "strong support" for George Bush. Bush is more popular in Europe than he is in the USA. Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. John Adams |
1002 people is not a good cross section, especially if 158 people were 55-64.
|
Hrm. 30%? Isn't that George W's current approval rating too?
|
1002 people is not a good cross section
Good point. No real statistician would make an assessment on anything based on such a shallow data pool. |

You must be kidding .... and people of 55-64 know more than the idiot punks whith the hit it threads ... In fact, that group made the average climb. |

You didn't read the article did you? |
You must be kidding ....
Nope. Just as you can't tell how a program will convert from sending 500 hits to a sponsor, you can't tell anything statistically relevant from that small a study (at least a serious, long-term study certainly wouldn't). |

Most Americans don't know Canada is their biggest oil supplier - 4% got it right.
30 percent of Americans cannot say in what year the Sept 11, 2001 terrorist attacks ocurred. 62 percent of Americans claimed that a paper check with your name on it can only be cashed if you sign or endorse it. Untrue. 49% of Americans didn't know that white bread is made from wheat. (DUH??) 60% of Americans don't know that excess abdominal fat is associated with heart disease. 66% of Americans don't know the words to the national anthem. 7% of Americans don't know the first 9 words of the American anthem, but know the first 7 of the Canadian anthem. Okkkay Americans don?t know what "integrity" is - there was a need to look it up at Webster?s - one of their top searches. Over 80% of Americans do not understand Roe vs. Wade - 17.6% got it right. Best of all... wait for it :winkwink: 60% of Americans believe Joan of Arc is Noah's wife. |
thats some funny shit above!
thx! we may be dumb but we're STRONG |
Its all about american idol!
I bet they can name the last 4 winners:thumbsup |
99.9999% of Americans don't care what GFYers think about them.
:-) Einstein didn't know his own phone number. Sometimes I forget my last name. |

Classic one was in Florida arranging for a shipment of computers to the Caribbean. We just chatted about the specific island in the Caribbean and it was known that this was just off the shores of Florida. When it comes to the actual address, the guy then asks, "That's in the Indian Ocean isn't it?" :winkwink: |
This surprises you?
50% of Americans think we found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. |

How come they never do any important polls, such as which type of cheese is more important, or how many tacos can you shove inside a mexican?s vagina?
