    It is Eurovision time

    or what we in the UK call 'thank God for Terry Wogan' day. Yes, it is gay. Yes, it is crap but like a car crash you have to look.

    I haven't watched the semi finals because I want to be suprised today so it is even funnier.

    Which balkan is going to host it next year then?

      Anyone know if they have it in the Us and on watch channel? Yes, I know what Eurovision is and that its a European competition but I was wondering if we have it here and on what channel?

                  They should have a webcast. It is so bad but it makes me feel glad to live in a place that sees it as a camp joke rather than takes it as seriously as some of the other countries that appear to actually think it is good music.

                          Eurovision? The Eurovision song contest is a a yearly event for countries that are members of the Eurovision television network (which is why Israel gets to be in it). Each country put up a band/singer and a song. The songs are always very cheesey but not suppose to be. Then once they have all sung each country has a call in vote and the country that gets the most votes from the other countries (they can't vote for their own country) wins and hosts the show next year.

                          ABBA were Eurovision winners before they were world famous but that is rareity.

                                      yeah..the voting is often more entertaining than the songs. It is very poltical and there are certain countries that ALWAYS give each other the maximum points every year.

                                                      Well, it has a lot to do with what Eastern Europe, etc think makes a good pop song. It might be good to them but to us they are a bit camp.

                                                      Terry Wogan, who is the British broadcaster that does our commentary pretty much makes fun of all of the songs all the way through which makes it enjoyable for us.

                                                                      Ah, cool. Ridicule notwithstanding, these people take home the prize at the end of the day. I like that. The only question that remains is whether they go the cheesy route because they like to perform cheesey songs, of because they know their market. Not that it much matters.
