Easter is so fucking stupid...

OK, so one day a year, after Jesus was crucified and supposedly came back from the dead?we paint Easter Eggs and wait for some silly bunny to come and give the kids presents?

I?m calling shenanigans on this pointless religious mumbo-jumbo!

?Religion is the opiate of the masses??- Karl Marx

Truer words have never been spoken. Rather than cloud my mind with this religious insanity?I think I?ll get some dirty needles and go out on a real heroin binge.

It will have the same effect.

Happy Easter

Chris 04-15-2006 08:09 PM

Evidently you are not sharing it with great people :):)
but none the less
Happy easter to you and yours :)

I don't give a damn about the religious holiday, but my kids love Easter and I have a blast watching them have fun.

LOL!!

Dude, easter was around long before the christian savior Jesus was born. Its a Pagan holiday celebrating the return of spring. The early Christians just used the holiday as one of thier own also, as an easier way to get Pagans to convert to christianity. Same shit with Christmas.

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 04-15-2006 08:39 PM

Commercialization at its best. Everyone go and buy chocolates and easter cards and eggs. Great way to motivate slumping sales, force everyone to buy shit.

At least the founding fathers knew better as well as some rather famous people:

"Religions are all alike - founded upon fables and mythologies." - Thomas Jefferson

"In no instance have . . . the churches been guardians of the liberties of the people." James Madison

"This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it."
John Adams

"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma." Abraham Lincoln

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, & the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people." - The whole quote by Karl Marx

"'In God We Trust.' I don't believe it would sound any better if it were true." Mark Twain

"So far as religion of the day is concerned, it is a damned fake... Religion is all bunk." Thomas Edison

"The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.", "Lighthouses are more helpful than churches." Benjamin Franklin

"I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of....Each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and of my own part, I disbelieve them all."
Thomas Paine

Every time I see that Marx quote, I think about the Calvin and Hobbes cartoon, where he and Hobbes are reading it in a book:

Calvin: Hobbes, what does it mean when it says "Religion is the opiate of the Masses"?

The Television (in a thought balloon): It means Karl Marx hadn't seen anything yet...

Of course, Bill Watterson, the creator of that wonderful strip would have to change it to have the TV be the Internet...

elitetec 04-16-2006 06:13 AM

u must be so fucked up, are you? if u are let us be

The Truth Hurts 04-16-2006 06:33 AM

it must be fun going through life hating just about everything.

look at as a day for the kids to have a little extra fun, and a chance to have a nice dinner with the family...

if you have neither, just go ahead and masturbate an extra couple of times or contiunue with whatever else it is that occupies your time.

V_RocKs 04-16-2006 07:01 AM

It keeps our economy floating during tax season.

Without Easter the US economy would have a HUGE drag in April.

DWB 04-16-2006 07:05 AM

i shoved a cadbury chocolate egg in a girls ass once.. its smashed upon entry and me and 3 other girls cleaned up the mess by licking her clean. those were the glory days...

And those are some smart people too.

Most religious holidays are just excuses to take a day off work and have a nice meal with family.

People celebrate easter but don't even go to church anymore or talk about what it represents.

Its just a name and in another 100 years when religion is pretty much completely lamed out, very few will remember terms like this.

Nismo 04-16-2006 11:09 PM

This is what easter means to me:

Its a celebration of the return of spring, what does that have to do with going to church?
