Hungryman Computer Drive!!!!

This is serious guys...

Hungryman as you know has been going through really tough times at home as of late and is now out on the street. His significant other will not allow him to come back in the house to collect anything and or get his computer... She is keeping it she says...

The computer is this guy's livelyhood!!! He cannot work or pretty much function without it...

If anyone can spare some computer parts and or old laptop please let me know. I am DEADLY SERIOUS the guy is in pretty bad financial times and cannot afford to purchase a new cpu at this time. I am driving him up to his family's house and he is going to stay there until he can afford to rent a new place...

If anyone can help him out he would greatly appreciate it. He is too proud to ask for help that is why I am asking for him...

If you guys want to help him out please send whatever you can. I hope this doesn't come off to much as a "save the children" commercial! Hehe!

Please help a fellow GFY'er who is down on their luck!

Anyways thanks!
DH

You know I got some shit 'round here I can part with, what you need?

GTS Mark 03-26-2002 04:16 AM

Well we need to build the guy a computer so whatever you got... Is better than what he has :winkwink:

pornJester 03-26-2002 04:18 AM

i've got an old 5 1/4 drive, let me know where to send it :thumbsup

Fletch XXX 03-26-2002 04:21 AM

I added an external burner to system "E", so I yanked the Creative 52X Drive out, also found a 56k dial up modem (brand new, PCI), and a ps2 mouse. I can most likely come up with an old AMD 550 if ya give me a few minutes, I'm still stoned...

bhutocracy 03-26-2002 04:21 AM

can't he break a window and take back his property?..

bhutocracy 03-26-2002 04:26 AM

i mean if it is his.. and she's putting him out on the street why can't he just say "well fuck you then im at least taking some of my shit"? is she going to be able to physically restrain him while he tries to get his stuff??

vegasdude 03-26-2002 04:27 AM

yeah, break in break in break in! :BangBang:

AdultWire 03-26-2002 04:28 AM

I've got assorted cards & shit. If you're missing pieces, let me know and I'll get him whatever he needs on loan.

Scootermuze 03-26-2002 05:16 AM

The computer is part of his tools of his trade. He can involve the law if need be to get it.
And just because he left doesn't mean he doesn't still own the home. No law against destroying your won property... If ya gotta break a window to get what's yours, so be it..

DanielJOOO 03-26-2002 05:31 AM

the comps are all our livelyhood, aren't they?

bhutocracy 03-26-2002 05:31 AM

yeah.. i mean i guess i don't understand the situation fully because if my partner kicked me out (and we've been together for 8 years so yeah we're "married") i just don't see how she'd be able to stop me getting my gear back.. unless she hired security guards.. it's his stuff.. i don't mean to sound like im not pitching in - i will - it's just that something this unfair is BS and i don't want to see it continue for his sake.... if i was in the US i'd join a posse and get it back for/with him.... i'd fucking break in myself.. i HATE seeing people get fucked over.... anyway i might be able to help him out with a monitor.. nothing fancy.. 17" i could buy some old gear from a company thats shedding some old stuff.... i'll check tomorrow.. that is if adultwire can't get him one.. (which might be easier than me shipping it from australia)
gotta check though.....

the bulldog 03-26-2002 05:36 AM

hungrymon is a Good guy id pitch in but All i have is a Broken keyboard spare :((

GTS Mark 03-26-2002 05:39 AM

Not to bud into Hungryman's affairs but I believe him and his wife had a mutual financial interest in his computers and business...

Which basically means his wife owned 50% he owns 50%....

I think that should answer your question regarding taking back his computers...

Seriously the guy is really down on his luck... Right now he is sleeping on my sofa and trying to think of ways to get some scratch together so he can by the next few weeks...

So I guess it is time to call in some favors of Hungryman... If he has ever done anything for you and you want to repay the favor this is SERIOUSLY his time of need...

His wife is a nice lady and I have met her before but I do think she is being very unreasonable for not letting the guy earn a livelyhood...

Pretty nasty shit!!:(

My wife and I had an argument. I left our house and rented an apartment. Three days later I went back to the house to collect the remainder of my belongings. I knocked at the door, she opened the door; saw that it was me; shut the door and locked it. I told her that I came for my belongings and she told me to go to hell and that I was not going to remove anything from the house. I told her that I was not leaving without my belongings and that I would break the door down if she would not let me in. She called the police; two officers showed up.

I explained to them that I had left my wife and rented an apartment three days prior and I wanted the remainder of my belongings. They told me that I would have to get a court order to be allowed to remove anything from the house.

I had a difficult time understanding that I could not enter my own house to retrieve my personal belongings, but they said because I had left the house and had a new residence; it was the law that I would have to get a court order to remove anything without her permission and if I tried to enter they would be forced to arrest me.

Before you start knocking out windows etc. you should talk to an officer first, or your new home may be jail.

You may talk to an officer and he may be able to talk your woman into allowing you to remove the items that are yours.

Good luck to you.

Cirrus 03-26-2002 05:58 AM

Sent - hopefully it will help him little bit

GTS Mark 03-26-2002 06:09 AM

Thanks Cirrus, he is really appreciative and feeling very guilty...

He is on the couch right now explaining how guilty he feels about asking for help... He asked me to write down everyone who contributes so he can pay you all back...

What a guy! LOL!!

We all need some help sometimes...

pornthug 03-26-2002 06:24 AM

Cirrus 03-26-2002 06:34 AM

It was my pleasure to help, even though it was just little help ;)

Wilbo 03-26-2002 06:36 AM

Tell him to bring a family member with him when he goes and tries to collect his stuff. His wife may think twice about acting in an uncivilized manner with members of his family around.

GTS Mark 03-26-2002 06:40 AM

Hey thanks for the great response so far guys...

I know alot of you don't have any spare parts kicking around or not enough to make it worthwhile to ship...

Even if you can pay pal the guy $20 that would mean alot.

Dualcpu 03-26-2002 08:35 AM

Isn't it easier to just send the guy some money instead of computer parts? With the money he could just buy a new system.

greentea 03-26-2002 08:51 AM

Amputate Your Head 03-26-2002 09:03 AM

Bigdogg 03-26-2002 09:31 AM

Check email for money from paypal..

Good Luck

ElvisManson 03-26-2002 09:31 AM

I've got 512 mgs o' 133 RAM that he can use.

LMK when you are coming downtown to pick it up.

TopTGP 03-26-2002 09:41 AM

I've got an old stick of ram sitting beside me on the desk... Its 64 mb... So it's a start :)

If he still needs ram, just let me know :D

EDIT:

Why the hell is a man not allowed the enter a house that he and his wife EQUALLY own... I mean, he moved into a new place, yes, but he still partially owns the house his wife is living in. What the fuck.

Gemini 03-26-2002 09:52 AM

It woeks up there the same as it does here. Take him to the police station for the area and speak to the ramking officer. Explain to him that his livlihood is from a computer system and she is holding his other personal belongings hostage as well.

Don't expect miracles, BUT, they will accompany him to get some of his things. NOw they won't let him haul off a bunch of nonsense (stereos etc) until the court hearings. But they WILL hold her back so he can get a few things. I even saw that happen up there on y'alls short lived 'Mounties' show (like Cops) down here about a year ago. Lucky they were with the guy to hold THAT one back.

I also recommend that he start an inventory list immediately so he can file it right away with the courts. It helps to prevent her from selling the things off. Have his attorney request the court to have the wife sign an acknowledgement that those items DO exist. :)

Hope that helps and keep his butt off the juice! Can ya tell *I* have been thru this a few times?! :winkwink:

Derek@XAMO 03-26-2002 09:52 AM

Now here goes nuthin.

PLease don;t take this the worng way.

I'm not sure if this is a boneprone joke/thread. Like one of thier silly threads to get people worked up and posting.

So I don't know what to think.

Is this really true?

Hungryman I thought you were doin well for yourself. So you told me.

You don't own your own computer. I saw your little office. You don't own that stuff?

If your cpu is your lifeblood it hasn't been doin that well if your out on the street. Right?? or no?

I don;t mean to be rude at all.

So is your computer gone for good? If not who get's the gfy computer? or will it be great FREE addition to your office. I feel
like you may be using webmasters for your own personal gain if this thread is fake.

If this is true thread I'm sure I got some computer stuff for you.

I hope all the best for you. What's going to happen to the kid?

Have you found a place to stay?

kmanrox 03-26-2002 09:55 AM

unfortunately Gemini is right, they will take him there and let him get his shit, i saw it on Cops one day =-)

bauhaus 03-26-2002 10:10 AM
