If you're thrifty you should be able to swing a regional show for around $500. There's lots of ways for the average person to save money.

I haven't went to a show, if I did I would take my fiance and spend more time after the show is over. But I don't think she wants to be around the show at all.

Affording to attend is not so much the issue as whether a particular industry convention will attract the customer demographic we'd be after.

We've been to the Sex Show and Erotica 2000 in Toronto in past years, and neither seem to attract much of a BDSM/fetish crowd. Comparatively, we attended the Bondcon convention in NYC in 2001 - where everyone who attended was there for the bondage & fetish market (producers, models & surfers).

I'd enjoy attending more shows, but its pointless spending the bucks if the demographic isn't there to at least break even with sales for the effort.

Well, there are more factors involved in not making it to Vegas this time around. Me and the wife usually go out there once a year, but during the summer when the kids are away. So in Jan, the kids are back in school, my main job I have a new boss and really should be at work and not taking vacation (but hey that's what its for rite?) and the fact of the airfare from Florida, just can't see a way really.

Although after I told her about all the tickets being given away in contests to the show, she said if you get em, we'll find a way to go.

I missed the Ft. Lauderdale one, as I was too new in town. And because of the recent turn of events (see sig) I can't afford the vegas show.

Seems everytime a show comes around I'm not doing too well.

I was planning on going to internext as my first ever show, but got fired today. Well, guess that means I can spend more time with the online activity & see if I can get my websites to replace the $3000 a month job I just got fired from :mad:

You're also flying from Europe! A regional show can be quite affordable. Drive to the location with a group of people, share rooms, eat at inexpensive places, and pick up free show tickets. A lot of shows are free anyway.

Sure yes can afford some. But not sure how productive it is to go to all of them. Smaller local shows are better for networking and making deals.

I can say without shame that i can't afford it since im taking everything i earn right now and investing it so i can reach a million before im 21. Living like a wealthy hobo and mooching food off your girlfriend sure has been fun though

If you cant afford to attend ONE SHOW you should find another line of work.

I went to the LA show just to do the mansion. The crazy thing is I made money on the deal so I am wondering if I can afford to not go to shows?

Don't like shows, they are just someone trying to sell you something under cover or oviously.

Its sad that the powers that be choose to have Internext at a time when its most busy and expensive a time in Vegas..

To compete with other large industry trade shows of the size of the consumer show they are having in Vegas is really shitty..

It really prevents a lot of webmasters who would have other wise come to the show, to choose not to because of the inflated prices and such..

Why we dont have it the week after the electronics show is beyond me.

It shouldnt be that expensive to want to go to Vegas.

I will be there..

But its disapointing knowing that Vegas will be a Zoo that week packed with people..

Not to mention the resturants and stripclubs will be a packed zoo everywhere.

I live in Phoenix so I'll drive. $60 worth of gas total.

My room is from a hook up. It's a $1k a night room at a hotel which I refuse to name (no vistors in the middle of the night).

I also got a free pass by winning some goofy contest on the YNOT Humpday show last week.

The tab for food is usually picked up by someone.

So I'll drop maybe $200 the entire show for my wife and I. Sweet.
