Pirates scared off by sound weapon ( PIC )

This is an actual picture of the pirates trying to board the cruiseship off the coast of Somalia. Look at these fuckers...

The ship's Norwegian captain and crew scared them off with LRAD, a "secret" weapon developed after the attack on the USS Cole, sending a concentrated 150 db high pitched sound wave.

And even if that little boat caught up with the cruise ship, how did they plan on climbing aboard? Those buggers are at least a dozen storeys high to the deck.

The attack was lacking something in the planning stages, me thinks.

They were trying to rob a cruiseship? 5 guys on something a little more high-tech than a rowboat? My feeling is that it was a failed attempt at a terrorist act - that they could have done successfully - shoot the rocket launcher, make a hole in an important part of the ship - cause a fire and get publicity for their cause.

A guy with a stick and 2 with rocket launchers don't look like the main plan was to rob a cruise ship (the smallest cruiseship holds how many people? Certainly more than 500) - if that was their intentions, they are most certainly dumber than a doorknob.

Anyhow, IMHO they were not there to rob the ship - but what do I know.
