1lbs per day - how I do it
From about April through July I didn't really live a life that would be considered healthy. Little to no exercise, pastries, greasy food, some fast food... result - I gained like 25lbs without even knowing. I eventually got up to 235lbs (at 6'1"), I got breathing problems and just generally found myself in a really bad shape.
About two weeks ago, under the strict supervision of my girl, I followed her input and change around my nutrition completely. No dairy. No wheat. No fried foods. Lean meat. No refined sugars. Result, I am back to 220lbs, losing about a pound a day. I also cut back on the portions, which is also crucial. I am not even exercising a whole lot, if I swam every day, or ran or went to the gym, the weight would be coming off even faster. Not to mention, I do feel much more energized, I can concentrate much better and just feel better overall. However, due to the drastic changes in lifestyle, I sleep much more. I guess it's the body coping with the changes, my girl said that it should take another week or so until my body fully gets used to the new regime. I'm loving it - sub-200 here I come! |
Cool, I lost like 20lbs the last 8 weeks just cutting fat food (lots of chicken, tuna, potatoes, rice etc)and doing some exercise.
|
Loser. Only girls weight under 200lbs.
|
235 lbs 6'1" - wtf is that? aren't you European?
:) |
You'll get there no problem. Just stick to your plan. But why no dairy? Milk has never hurt anyone. Unless maybe for sundays and ice creams... And remember that to continue losing 1lbs a day, you gotto eat even less at 220 than at 235. good luck
|
nice.. but i eat pasta e.g. to keep at balance .. i workout so :)
|
Damn, it's a hell of a problem to get some pounds for me. I need to do muscular exercices, otherwise I'm getting lighter.
Oh and I eat whatever I want. :thumbsup |

Losing weight is simple. Eat less sugar and fat, eat smaller portions and get some exercise.

man, there should be metric to bullshit converting system on the top left corner of GFY |
I'm down 15lbs since Internext. Weight loss takes a lot of effort but it's worth it. Sure I know 1lb a day isn't the best way to take it off. Hey it works. I can lose 60lbs like this. However the weight loss slows down significantly for me after the first 30lbs.
I need to lose about 3 of these. http://www.themorningnews.org/images...ing_turkey.jpg |
1lb per day loss in unhealthy :(
|
well, it is good that you are motivated, but most of your weight loss at this stage is a water loss, not fat loss.
suggest for your size: 1. go to 1900-2000 calories/day total 2. start a food journal and record everything you eat 3. try to exercise away 300 calories/day to give you a net calorie day of 1600-1700---this will give you about a 2 pound per week loss that will get you down to a proper BMI of about 22 in a few months. don't try to lose weight so fast---otherwise it won't stay off. |

the trick is the lifestyle change, and doing the above like religion. |
I hope you understand you might be losing 1lb of a day on the scale, but it sure won't be 1lb a day of fat, seriously you need to determine your goals here.
What's the logic of no dairy? Dairy is a great weight loss tool.. Hit me up on ICQ if you seriously want to lose weight, I will try and help you out. |

very true, the smaller you get the more aggressive your diet plan must be to continue the weight lose. fatter people lose more weight the fatter they are. those last 5-10 pounds down to your target weight can take 3 times as long to remove, especially if you are exercising because your muscle mass you gain weighs more than the fat you are removing. stay at it and add years to your life, and get more pussy. BTW: just moved my youngest son into his dormitory at college yesterday---and young people at the university are very fat these days in america---half the girls waddle like cows and are very unattractive. you kids really need to get off the fast food. |

Anyway, "No wheat and No dairy" is a BAD idea. :Oh crap You need a well ballanced diet... cut the fried stuff and high sugar, but wheats and dary is are nessasary if you want to keep any muscle mass. :winkwink: Here's my success story and pics -->>>. Hope this helps. :) Getting started is the hardest part, and you're already on the right track. Best luck man! :thumbsup |

What's the logic of no dairy? Dairy is a great weight loss tool.. QUOTE] very true for people under age 30 if done properly. cholesterol issues later in life. |
congrats buddy, glad you feel better now.
i also want to loose some weight. im a short girl about 5ft-3, i used to weigh 110lbs but now im more than 120lbs...i feel so bad -- depressed! i can hardly go back to my old diet. im beginning to lose hope, instead of weight :( |
drink SHITLOADS of water. I mean SHITLOADS 8 ounces for every 10 pounds. So if you're 200lbs drink 160 ounces EVERYDAY
|
I've recently changed my diet to something similar. Now I say changed my diet instead of saying I am dieting. I am trying to make a lifestyle change here.
I am 6'1" and as of 2 weeks ago I was 340lbs. I'm a big guy, but not a blustering fat blob like some people my weight. I have a good amount of muscle mass, yet I'm no power lifter. Today I weighed in at 328lbs. Not bad loss for 2 weeks. My target weight is 215lbs, exactly what I weighed before getting into this industry in 1996! The posts that WTS-Ben made are great. Damn Ben, what an inspiration! |
No wheat ? your brain runs on carbohydrates. Don't neglect the one muscle that matters. Good luck.

I been doing the slimfast thing. I take a shake for breakfast and lunch and eat a decent but not totally pig out dinner. Walk a mile and a half everyday and take some old Metabolift pills (I had them from last time I lost weight, quit smoking and got up to 333 and got back down to 300, these are the ones that have ephedra, not healthy but damn do they pump me up and make me feel good).
I have been very slowly losing weight the last year and half, I started playing in 2 softball leagues last year and this year and quit drinking soda, just doing those 2 things I went from 6' 1 and 315 pounds to 295 pounds. The last 2 weeks I decided to get serious with my weight loss because the softball leagues ended and last year after the leagues ended I gained 10 pounds right off, dont want that to happen again. Believe it or not I have such a large build that when I weigh 250 pounds I am in pretty good shape. Eventually I would like to get down to a little under 220, at 220 I may be a bit too skinny and weak feeling though. I guess I will quit losing weight when my body decides to since I have no problems keeping the slimfast diet the rest of my life, I feel so so so much better just after 2 weeks words cannot describe. Eating about 1/4 of what I used to eat combined with these energy/diet pills and exercise my energy levels are literally 100x of what they used to be. |

Everyone knows the reason for the big weight loss in the first week of a diet is because of all the excercise running up and down the stairs to the toilet ;) |
