Down here, it's NOT racist. An interesting example of "racism being in the eye of the beholder." Here in Mexico, it's a comic book character that's been around since the 40s and is still being published.

Mexicans are just as color struck as other people. Damn near everything american has been adopted in mexico. Just look at mexican television and you'll see mainly WHITE Mexicans on the news and in soap operas when we all know that most mexicans aren't anything near white looking. Only time it's cool to look mexican on mexican television is if you're singing classic mexican music and have a big sombrero on with your backup band blowing trumpets and playing tubas.
