Damn It..Fucking Macromedia...
I spent last 2 hours on a design in Dreamweaver, so the fucking peice of shit to crash..Now all that work is GONE...Fucking peice of shit was set to auto save..BULLSHIT!!!
Nothing got saved..I'm fucking pissed..Every time I paste forms in dreamweaver, the fucker crashes..I fucking give up...

i didn't know dreamweaver has an autosave, although i have been using it for several years. Autosave is a suitable option for adventure games. I keep saving every little changes i do on a page. CTRL+S

btw,spacedog have you tried ALT+F4 ?

Umm..soul rebel..alt + f4 will close a window..Not save a file in dreamweaver..

And yes dreamweaver can be set to save when it is shutdown...This time, it failed..

If you'd have read the manual, you'd know that Dreamweaver uses different hotkeys than other programs.
ALT-F4 actually sets it to autosave every 2 minutes.

If you use Frontpage too, then press CTRL-W to turn on autosave.

I know it gets kinda confusing. I wish they'd stick to one standard.

Not that there is anything wrong with free host. I just think it's odd that someone that could afford a $300.00 "piece of shit software" could easily afford $50.00 a month for hosting.

And also... since no one else seems to have that problem, perhaps, maybe the error lies within your computer.

And even though they fuck with you a lot, ALT + F4 does indeed autosave every 2 minutes. And no, I didn't pay for my copy either.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how much money you can make on paid hosting with free sites.

I can't tell you how many articles, and newbie chat rooms that say use free hosts to filter in some TGP traffic, but not to use them for much else.

Spacedog, this is getting almost painful to watch...

Do yourself a favor before you give yourself an aneurism. Take a couple of days off from everything. Stay off the boards, don't worry about your next big idea that will revolutionize the world.

Put a little plan together. Nothing fancy.

Make sure your plan has clearly defined goals. Nothing super hard, but nothing utterly easy. Nothing fancy either. Forget paysites, webmaster resources, monstrous free sites with zillions of pics, etc.

Do something simple. Build 100 free sites with 20 pics and submit them to the big 3 linklists or something like that. It'll take some work, but it's not an unachievable goal. Once you finish that, you'll have a better idea of what works for you and what doesn't and you'll start to understand how things work.

Right now, you're just running around like a chicken on crack with it's head up it's ass.

And stop trying to impress everyone here with your colorful vocab. All you're doing is making yourself look bad.

You have a ton of enthusiasm, but you have no plan, no experience, no success to build on, and no ability to even make people want to help you. Everyone got help when they first started but it wasn't by acting like an idiot in plain view of everyone and insulting the very people you plan on asking for help.

Just my 2 cents. All you're doing now, though, is killing yourself and alienating the people you need to work with you so you can achieve some kind of success.

If you previewed the document in Internet Explorer whilst creating it in Dreamweaver (which you should have done at least once... http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/smile.gif) and then Dreamweaver crashed later, that means you probably still have the "temporary" html file that was created by Dreamweaver to preview in IE or Netscape. Normally Dreamweaver deletes these when you close it down, but as you didn't... there is a chance that the files still exist.

They are hidden so you gotta go to the file and folder thingie and click on "show all files and folders" so that you can see hidden files...

Then use the Windows file finder or Windows search (depending on your version...) to look for *.htm

It'll probably return a shitload of files so organise them by name and look for the (usually hidden) ones beginning with TMP, then followed by many different characters

eg. TMP00349f4f4mm.htm

That will be your work... just open with Dreamweaver and save a real copy quickly.

If that doesn't work repeat the search with *.html

If that does'nt work then you're definately shit outta luck.

C..TRAFFIC TO BE STEADY & ALL LINK TRADES TESTED & WORKED OUT

Suppose I invest the $$ I go buy domain & hosting..I do a link trade with some fucker who uses a bot & now my BW goes up..MISTAKE..

I'll use host til I get the version of my site that'll work for me..

I invest $$ in domain...Domain gets blacklisted because of content contained in a gallery of another webmaster I gave link to..

I use freehost to work everything all out to prevent these from happening....

Until I feel that everything works & functions to MY satisfaction & I feel that it is successful..THEN I will get paid host..
You're all telling me to get a plan..Well, that is my fucking plan...
When I am sure the site will maintain a monthly profit of $2k per day w/ no problems..That's when I'll get the paid host..

And another thing..Redshoe..Events that have occured in my life are also the reason I use free fucking hosts...

bottom line spacedog, you never were a webmaster, you're lacking serious knowledge of operating a pc and you can't follow a correct road to do some things. I have a friend that he's 17 y.old in this business and believe it or not his revenues are close to $500k/year. He runs several things you know and many of you use, but you don't know about him. In any business area someone can achive everything. You can start from hosting your sites on geocities and some day running a sucessful business. In order to achive this you become better day after day, taking risks, working hard and smart and keep learning. When the others do a step, you'll have to do 10 steps. I don't believe you have any luck in this industry, neither you'll ever have. Let's say it's bad alchemy or something. I advise you to try another area that probably you're better or stay here having it as a 2nd job until you'll have the knowledge to start.
