My Thoughts On The Phoenix Forum- I Hope Everyone Reads this

I have to say that I have been a part of this industry now for 7 1/2 yrs, and never have I seen an event that was so well organized. My hat truly goes off to all the fine people at CC Bill. They found a wonderful hotel, with a location that was not only ideal- it was extremely condusive to doing BUSINESS. The hotel was beautiful- the limo buses plentiful, and the needs of any webmaster were truly fulfilled. The open bars, breakfasts, lunches and bbq were well stocked- nobody left this show hungry or not drunk :-))
I mean even a "Munchie Room" that was really fun. All I kept hearing this week from everyone was how they "didn't have to go into their pocket once for anything other than tips"- I know the parking guys and wait staff definitely made some money!!!
The cars out front were always entertaining as well but I thought the Phantoms that picked up the sponsors were dope!

I think the signage that CC Bill, as well as their sponsors received was great. I even got a kick out of ordering room service at my hotel which was miles away from the event and handled by an outsourced delivery company when the driver showed up wearing a CC Bill Hat!!!!!! That cracked D$ and I up- but it also showed me how much CC Bill owns Phoenix.

Ron, Sharna, Sean, Doug, Sherry, Corvette- and all the rest of the CC Bill people have to be commended on their hospitality everytime I saw a CC Bill employee, they were helping someone to answer their questions on events, parties, or giving them helpful, general information. They were also well labeled. I know I have made fun of Sean in the past asking him in Jamaica once if he had CC Bill crested swim trunks- The funny part is they probably do!!!
Jeez guys how many different pieces of your warddrobe say CC Bill on them???

I'd go to work fot CC Bill just for the clothes, LOL.

Parties
I'd have to say that the party at XXX Cash's offices absoultely rocked. It was nice blend of people I hadn't met with or seen in a while. A nice outdoor smoking area made for a very nice ambiance to discuss business deals- and the accessibility to their offices was very cool. It is nice when you can show a captive audience your offices- and show that you are real company that you need to be sending traffic to- not a newbie program working out of the basement of your mother's house. I can bet that they'll have over a two hunderd new webmasters signed up to their program today.
K Rosh was an excellent DJ, he did a great job mixing tunes to satisfy every taste. The European webmasters loved it, the gay webmasters loved it, and the rest of us that like rock and roll and hip hop loved it as well-

I'd also have to say that the bartenders at XXX Cash must have Carpal Tunnel from the excessive pouring :-))
I got plastered off one Gin and Tonic. As a sponsor of the event I have to thank them for the signage that JOEBUCKS received- I know Gary and David were very pleased.
I know a lot of people bitched and moaned it was a long ride to their offices, but you have to admit going there in those rocking limo buses made the time go by so much quicker- especially with the strippers and the pole on the bus. What a crack up!

Lightspeed Cash was another PHX company that stepped up to the plate and delivered a nice alternative with the Dodgeball tournament. I thought that was fun and extremely well done- everyone who watched or participated in the event had a blast. I also had a very nice time winding down at their party at Gameworks. It was fun playing games with webmasters foro nce that didn't involve traffic or joins HAHAHAHA!.
Kudos to Lightspeed!

My favorite event of the Phoenix Forum? I have to say my hat goes off to GIGACASH for their GIGA GOLF TOURNEY.
It was so well organized from the putting contest, to the low score/ high score trophies. The Raven is such a fantastic course and really in a beautiful location- not too far from the hotels, and the course was in tip top shape.

I thank you GIGA for the Award as well, (I actually ended up winning low score with the Callaway handicap)

I also have to thank Dollarmachine for the $200 I won!!
It was such a nice group of guys that attended-D$,the Mob Bucks CREW- "Timmy Two Times", Mikey "Dice" Vega, and Ray "the Don" Vega
Nader, Bugbee, Berg, Kaza, Joe, Poppy, Oystein, Brent, Bangwang, the Price Bros- and so many more I am sure I am forgetting.
I am still sunburned :-((
Thanks for Breakfast Platinum Dave as well - We enjoyed seeing you that morning before we tee'd off, you are a real sport and sharp guy.

Tempe was a nice spot to do this type of event- I highly recommend that anyone who didn't attend this event - attends it next year- it's the best show I have EVER attended by FAR. If you didn't attend this show, you should at least sign up for the sponsors that did support CC Bill's great event as well as u should process with CC Bill if you are not already.

I did some fabulous business, and met so many people I would have never met in Vegas. If CC Bill continues to do these kinds of shows , people will be attending them. I prefer this type of a show over a Vegas Internext. I felt that the schedule was not chaotic, and the environment was very relaxing.

I really have to say :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
to everyone that was a part of this the show -

I hope to be talking to a lot of webmasters this week- I have over 500 business cards to go through!!!!
:pimp

Agreed! After returning to Tucson, I have that feeling of when a young man leaves summer camp, after meeting tons of new friends and having new adventures. The feeling of not wanting to leave...

Great post KB!

I agree that it was the best show ever. I used to always think that the small shows were best because they were more intimate and it was easier to talk business but this past week has proven me wrong. CC Bill showed us that you can have a large show in an intimate setting. No stone was unturned. The attention to detail was amazing.

Also, nice seeing you KB.

tony286 04-04-2005 11:19 AM

What I dont understand is how phoenix can do a great show like that and not charge a admission but with internext its a raping. We decided not to go FL ,phoenix next year will be our first show.

spideriux 04-04-2005 11:29 AM

wow :thumbsup

Good seeing you as well Rick- I think the smaller shows are defintely the trend of the future with San Diego and Phoenix being key places to host webmasters.

CCBill is a processing company, not a trade show company. They do not make money directly off the Phoenix Forum -- sometimes they lose money producing it, due to cost overruns and the unbelievable amount of employee time that goes into the event.

At some point tho, they will have to start charging at least a nominal fee, in order to secure the event for those interested in doing business, especially if it keeps on growing. Otherwise you simply have too many lookie-lous running around and the event loses on quality.

This was a marvelous job they've done this year, my thanks to them and to all of the sponsors.

Aly 04-04-2005 12:28 PM

Thanks Kimmy...!

That covered, I do just want to chime and say - what a GREAT event! :thumbsup
The location, business opportunities and level of service at the Phoenix Forum were superb.... and I had a blast! :winkwink:

It was a genuine pleasure to spend quality time with so many of you again. :)

THen please explain the NAB which run by a company that does shows and its free to attendees ,the money comes in from booths and sponsorships.

TheGoldenChild 04-04-2005 05:46 PM

I hope all who attended sign up for the sponsors that put up the cash for the CC Bill show- I also know that they will

It's truly the best way to show the companies the ROI and not many other shows can do that.

NAB is a great show - so is AD Tech

MikeHawk 04-04-2005 06:06 PM

KB...I could not agree with you more!

It was great to meet you!

:thumbsup

NickB. 04-04-2005 06:16 PM
