I went to the player's ball with 3 people - one was a sponser. We called people inside and got approved to go inside by the bouncers. One person in the crowd started to freak out and wouldn't let us pass. He really whinned and whinned about it. I was the 3rd in a line of three people holding hands going through the crowd to get inside. I kept saying excuse me as loud as I could as we went through, but this one person kept doing everything he could to hold me back. Then when I got past him I got a look that can only be described as 'i'll get you back motherfucker'.

i got no email or icq about this, only board hate which i find out about today.

now you say i stepped on your wife's foot. If I did that I apoligise, but with the amount of people in that crowd I'd really like to know how you knew it was me who stepped on her foot? I saw you pushing her and a lot of other women in front of me trying to stop me from getting past - that was pretty classless. How come you didn't mention that?

sorry to rant in your thread, D-Money. Luckily, I recognized one of the doormen from when he used to work at the Hard Rock and he helped get us through the crowd (we had sponsor suite passes thanks to the kickass folks at NATS). Uh, then we got in and found the complications they had. But, it was still a great show once people were able to get inside (after security did this crazy thing called "forming people into a line" ;-)).

Next time, I'd suggest have a bullhorn though for outside so people standing out in the line in the freezing cold at least have an idea of what was going on...

I just felt that simple manners could have prevented the problem.

You should have gone up to him inside, and told him flat out that you believe he stopped on your wife. I bet he would have apologized on the spot. It's doubtful there was any malice in the event, if in fact there was an event.

In any case, I'm glad to hear nobody was seriously injured.

had it only been a minor case of lack of crowd control (which was happening as it was) it would have been one thing...but even people pushing through with Player's cards had the tact to apologize and explain "I have a player's card"
