The USA gives more in international aid than the rest of the world combined
...this includes government and private aid. At least this is what was reported today...in response to critism of the thirty-five million that has been provided by the government to assist in the current disaster.

It's to compensate for all the things they (you) destroy ;)

Funny how you left out the second part of the phrase, that I posted to show the facts.... More facts: Quote:
BY the way, IRAQ has suffered major destruction of infrastructures from electricity to oil pipelines and so on ... but again. probably not the sharpest ..... Go turn in your empties to buy your rubbing alcool..... |
I just heard on the news that USA will give 35 million dollars. Japan alone will give 30 million dollars. And 18+ more countries will help too.

The infrastructure of Iraq was not originally built up to par. The 12 years of neglect by the Iraqi government allowed it to decay even more. There is currently more electricity available...in more locations...than pre invasion. There is currently more drinkable water available...in more locations..than pre invasion. The oil infrastructure was not...and has not been damaged by coaliton forces...but has been damaged to a minor extent by the "insurgents". |

The US will end up giving billions.
The UN official who opened his mouth too fast has been reprimanded. The US is the the #1 bankroller of the UN. How about the UN officials give back some of the bribe money from oil for food? To put it in perspective, in the first 24 hours of this awful catastrophe, the US donated a quick $15 Millions, France donated $135,000 :( It may also be noted that the plane that Israel was to send to Sri Lanka was not accepted, Sri Lanka could not accept a special team of 150 doctors, surgeons and nurses trained for natural disaster since they do not recognize the "Zionist" State, they later accepted some aid from Israel, but no specialized medical team. It may also be worth noting that the area hardest hit are mostly frequented by Northern European tourists, over 10000 people from the UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands are missing. So, it should not come as a surprise that those countries are contributing heavily to the search and rescue effort. |
