I got to do it all twice the second time was fun though because I had an edge up on everyone else in the room Except my Drill Instructors


I allready knew how to take apart a rifle and shine my boots and make my bed I just played along and hell I excelled pretty quickly the second time around LOL

I've been to parris island for a friend that graduated the marines, awesome place, we got to take a tour after ceremonies, then we drove into savannah and partied till sun up down on river street. good times man, good times.

ahhh ok... I wondered why it had "suck pole" in 2 different lines.

Those things are sure to get editing out.... Saying the same

I get tears thinking about it and laughing my ass off... I don't know if i would last more than a day before taking a drill sergant head off.... never been good at taking orders from people who bark down our throat.

he was a Marine Drill Instructor long befor he was an actor, a lot of that I am sure was ad libed I couldnt imagine how hard it must have been to be making that movie and not losing it every five seconds from laughter I am sure it took many many many takes to get it without someone laughing

I know when I was in Marine Bootcamp you are Scared shitless but you want to laugh at some of the comments and sometimes well it just comes out and you are fucked

The story i heard was that he was originally brought in as a consultant but kubrick was so impressed by the shit he came up with he had him replace the intended drill instructor and was given creative control of his character. I dont think that guy had been in any movies prior to Full Metal Jacket. If im wrong feel free to flame :)

but honestly though, its funny you made this thread. I bought the movie years ago and watched it once (I had seen it before) then just two days ago I decided to watch it again.. I fell in love with it again and watched it again last night.

A very good movie, and they dont make them like that any more.
