Have you signed up with Dollars.com yet?

Calling it a neat tool would be an insult IMO. This system is going to revolutionize the way affiliate marketing is done. What are your thoughts?

It's in your own interest to take a short look into it, I'm not going to explain here.

You can get a better understanding by reading this thread.

It's a quite complex system and there is a lot know but that thread covers most of the questions.

It doesn't matter if you own a program or publish sites > publishers are as crucial to the system as advertisers are

I'd love to know what it would take to get you to read the thread I posted above. It was built for the webmaster, not the program owner.

I'd suggest you could summarize it in 5 sentences instead 5 large paragraphs ( if possible ). In that case more webmasters would become aware of that.

Just an idea.

I read through some of it and it seems like a hi-tech referral service. I would like to publish some sites through it.

It's a lot more than that.

If you promote paysites using banners, text links, galleries, etc... and do so in volume at all... you're cheating yourself if you don't look into it.

My understanding is they take a cut for targeting traffic to the appropriate place. Shave free? I hope so. Shaving is killing the affiliate business.

It sounds good in general tho and I will sign up.

no I think you got it completely wrong. Attend one of the meetings tomorrow! :thumbsup

Tom_PMs 10-07-2004 04:13 PM

From a publisher (webmasters) point of view, it could be called an ad managment and evaluation system. By which you can set up dynamic targeted (by your criteria) advertisements for multiple advertisers (sponsors).

Since effectiveness of the advertisements is based on impressions, clicks and conversions in one place, you can get valuable information on which ads deserve to be displayed more often on which traffic source of yours. And yes the system allows you to adjust the weighting of the ads.

What makes that more solid is that dollars.com hosts all of the sponsors tours (yes thats right) and advertisements and receives data direct from the processor.

Anyway even a short explanation from a webmaster like me who's on the outside looking in would get long if you want more detail..

FlyingIguana 10-07-2004 04:16 PM

my question is this. you've spent all this money and time on the project. whats in it for you guys? how are you guys getting the ROI on this project?

Tom_PMs 10-07-2004 04:19 PM

Rick said in a previous post:

"We charge the advertisers 5% of their payout so a 30 dollar join hits them at 31.50."

Advertisers are Sponsors.

Hey, this is VERY cool

"When a sale is made, the funds are immediately credited to your account, and can be withdrawn via Epassporte at any time (assuming you are a verified publisher). We charge a low 20 dollar transfer fee* when you make a withdrawal, but you can withdraw funds earned from all your advertisers in one centralized location, and do so as often as you want. Furthermore, the fee is always $20*, even if you're withdrawing $30,000."

:glugglug :glugglug :glugglug

No more waiting for wires and setting up minimum payments and email different sponsors the new wire details.

edited: and no more negative cash flow :D:D:D

Tom_PMs 10-07-2004 04:24 PM

So if you want to be complete, the charge to a sponsor is +5% per sale, and the charge to a webmaster is a $20 fee for withdrawing payout that the sponsor might have taken a month to mail you.

hehe, hey I like it so I'll spin it.

naturally they offer wire too

polish_aristocrat 10-07-2004 04:26 PM

BTW how many sponsors ( it's called "advertisers" but sponsors sounds more familiar ) are already in that system?

Dagwolf 10-07-2004 04:26 PM

Anyone who makes at least $100 per month in affiliate sales is going to more than make up that $20. :2 cents:

Mr Pheer 10-07-2004 04:26 PM

I just cant stay interested enough to read all of it. I've avoided all of the 'the next big thing' for years and I'm still kickin ass.

Someone suggested summing it up in 5 sentences. So how about doing that for those of us with productive traffic, but short attention spans?

read tom's reply?

polish_aristocrat 10-07-2004 04:28 PM

And what if a sponsor pays in Euro?

Is each sale automatically converted each day to USD and credited to my Dollars account?

email support @ dollars.com

Tom_PMs 10-07-2004 04:29 PM

Damn I just wrote 3 short paragraphs.. thats too long?

Ad/tour/sponsor management. All hosted tours and join pages so data is equally comparable. Weighting system to display best ads a sponsor has available.

There are about 7 or 8 sponsors already in there.

Mr Pheer 10-07-2004 04:30 PM

I'm sitting here looking at this and just dont see how i could integrate it into the system that I'm already using. And some sponsors pay me $40 per signup because my traffic is productive, is dollars.com going to match that?

kenny 10-07-2004 04:31 PM

http://www.dollars.com/money.html

Does it have to be epassporte? Can't we just have it go directly to a bank account

dollars.com is not a sponsor, you can see them as an ad delivery network. If one of your ads under- or outperform, it'll be clearly visible and easily adjusted. It won't make you more than $40 a signup, but it can improve your revenue per thousand ad impressions. Attend one of their meetings tomorrow!
