Its not much different in other industries and the same with business everywhere.

That is why it is called "business" and not playtime.

But I will say this industry does attract people for the wrong reasons, more than other industries.

Its usually the people that are always saying how much they can do for you and how much money they can make you that end up ass fucking you. I have witnessed someone that claims how great they are and how well respected they are in the business screw the people promoting his shit(and it is shit)I cant believe I ever associated myself with that kind of person.

I think the amount of trust people place in others is a pretty good indication of how trustworthy they are themselves :2 cents:

the only people I trust are my friends I grew up with and my family. People I do business with, I place confidence in, but never trust. If you get screwed over, dont bitch and complain about it. Go out, get drunk, chalk it up as a loss, learn from the experience and come back at the world smarter, badder and tougher then before.

The problem is in this community, is that people consider others thier friends simpley because they spend time on ICQ chating and have a cool message board personality. I learned a long time ago that ICQ chats, and message board fun does not make someone your friend.

This is a business based mostly on greed. Everyone is in it to make some easy cash. This makes almost everyone in this community not your friend but a business associate. They want the same thing you do, money. This desire can often lead so called "friends" to do things you don't appreciate. That is business.

My rules are as follows:

Enjoy the company of your business associates but don't expect them to have your back.

Show respect to your business associates and ask the same in return.

Never do a deal for anything over $1,000 with someone you have not met in person and spent some time face to face talking too. (plane tickets are not that much)

Keep your friends in your personal life and leave business associates in your business.

Never commit to a business related deal based on message board posts or ICQ messages alone.
