Yes! And what a wonderfully grand way to be outdone.

Do it to me every day like that!

And thank you Lord for proving I wasn't a schmuck afterall like so many people were saying and laughing at me for investing a million buckaroos on one domain.

And that's exactly what everyone was saying to me a few months ago at half that amount.

That's a great domain the guy bought and worth every penny and then some.

KRL 07-21-2004 02:52 AM

I'm really surprised more of the other players here with big dollars haven't seen this next wave coming and jumped on it already.

It's going to be a beauty this time around guys.

Grab your surf boards and take some risk.

The more these properties get bid up the more the equity values for all the great domains are going to skyrocket.

:thumbsup

You've got to remember that CreditCards.com had an estimated monthly turnover of $30-40K/mo as well (in advertising and pay-for-conversion), something that affects the domain price.

fr33s3x 07-21-2004 03:50 AM

nice :thumbsup

KRL 07-21-2004 05:55 AM

I couldn't sleep all night. This is such great news validating what Rick (Webfather) and I were concluding about the next big wave for domain values.

strobi 07-21-2004 06:02 AM

VERY very nice sale! I'm digging deeper into domains myself. Got a nice type-in portfolio and building!:Graucho

I remember when Dec. just threw AltaVisat into the deal when Compaq bought them, didn't think it was worth anything. Then Compac sold it for like 500 million. Don't remember who bought it.

hova 07-21-2004 06:44 AM

interesting read!

taboo_dude 07-21-2004 06:53 AM

"Jackson agreed, saying the Internet advertising rebound has had an immediate impact on the value of domain names. Simple pay-for-click sites, like Candy.com, now earn as much as $10 per user they send to an e-commerce site, Jackson said. And when a visitor to a site like CreditCards.com actually signs up for a new credit card, the bounty is as high as $50, he said."

:eek2

Damn... 50 on a cpa deal? That is something worth checking out...

Dagwolf 07-21-2004 06:54 AM

Maybe I could sell my TGP domain to a big carpet retailer... :1orglaugh

Nysus 07-21-2004 07:16 AM

Very nice domain. Gets a LOT of traffic too.

Cheers,
Matt

Odin88 07-21-2004 07:22 AM

He should put a TGP on it, and than have across the top 'NO CREDIT CARDS'. Good idea no?

:winkwink:

I was thinking the same thing :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

The other domains are at least high in value due to name or potential status. I never even heard of asseenontv.com before.

AsSeenOnTV.com is a huge shopping site if you've never been there before.

Did they buy it with the site already built? Or just the domain?
