Should we end Miss GFY contest?
 

Frankly, I am tired of it. After several months, we haven't even completed Round 3!

Not to be a prick, but your opinion means nothing. These girls have been working pretty hard, why short change them?

I think they should re-start it. Just kinda bite the bullet, say they learned from some trial and error.

Each week girls drop out because they have lost interest or don't want to show any skin.

You aren't a prick. I am stating an opinion based on the results so far. It has been mismanaged and delayed to an incredible degree.

trying to make everyone happy is what has caused the problems..... make them be nude in all the remaining contest, while performing their said tasks, that will work two fold, it will eliminate the hideous looking broads, and will prove to everyone that the girl herself is doing the task!

I am telling you, expand on what has been learned, make the tasks ahead of time, and require the girls to be nude while doing he tasks, it will be alot more fun, and everyone will get involved.....

if you want a friggin webmaster competition, then open it to everyone not just girls....

and call it the gfy WEBMASTER OF THE YEAR PRIZE or something along those lines....

otherwise if more female participation is the key, then require the nudity....

This was a contest for females on GFY: not just the models. Stop whining that it's not all about nudity, sheesh.

I think a good move would be to require an exact structure.

All remaining round tests should be posted at the same time. This will allow the ladies to prepare.

Subsequent rounds should be placed on the calendar.

Better tests that reflect the initial idea that this wasn't a beauty contest. No skills other than posing and posting have been used so far.

I couldn't agree with you more Zoe. I mean many girls look at these type of things in different ways, and have their reasons for staying on one side or the other of the camera. Different strokes for different folks I always say

The disorganization and delay is "spitting in the faces of the women that have worked hard for this contest." They have no idea what is expected of themselves since the essense of the rules keep shifting. You are using them as a tool for "drama, delays, catfights, etc"?

One thread asking about DQing a girl, which I adamantly supported HER just so everyone knows, is not us using them for drama.

Tell you what you get all the contestants in here and ask them where they stand on this issue. If you are just going to have a bunch of GFY guys in here bitching cause they are not getting enough pics of the girls. You are not going to win this battle.

but trying to please all and allow for equal contest has proven not to be the best route to go in my opinion...

like I said, if they want to have a webmaster competition, then open it for everyone, not just females, then you truley get a networking experience, and a chance to showcase your talents an entrant, against equal peers.....

also the worst contest so far has been the posting contest, it was won before it even started, and exactly how did that do any good for any of the contestants?

This contest was a chance to bring the female webmasters more in the open. I honestly thought in the beginning this wouldnt be a beauty contest, and was hoping for challenges that went more on creativity and skill instead of skin.

I liked the posting contest. It weeded out a lot of the chicks who joined GFY for the main purpose of being in the contest. The winner of Miss GFY should be an active poster IMHO.

I at first, thought the same thing, and adamantly defended that position if you recall.

However it is proving to be that is not the case, and trying to be politically correct is hurting more than helping....

so trying to ride the fence in the middle is not going to make anyone happy with the results, no matter what...

oh and don't look now but mostly models or girls that do some level of nudity, are the majority of the remaining contestants, and we are only in week three......

I completely understand we debated it officewide for a while in the hopes it wouldn't make the boards. But in the end taking it to the masses was the only way to be fair. Nice thing was that justice prevailed in the end.

For my 400th post (lol) I have a few things to say about the contest....First of all I have enjoyed being a part of the contest as it has given me a chance to become apart of the GFY community. Honestly, if it was not for the contest I probably would have been too intimidated to post as much as I have and I have met some really cool people because of it. Second... I would like to say that the contest is open to all women, models and webmasters, so although the playing field may not be level for all of the tasks, I have faith that they will balance out. So even if one weeks task may be geared more to a model the next will probably benefit one of the webmaster girls more...and the third comment I have is that it would terrible to end a contest which all of us contestants have worked so hard on...granted the delays may be a little irritating at times, but unfortunately it just seems to be something we must make the best of... I look forward to the rest of the contest and I am happy that I am able to be apart of it...

As I mentioned earlier, I think several of the problems would go away if GFY posted rules, weekly challenges, and a calendar en masse soon. If I remember correctly Lensman had posted that this was going to be a 10 week contest. That was Feb. 28th.
