I would never join a program simply because they paid some OTHER pROGRAM owner 8k for their sig.

Well, he didnt pay $8K for mine...I can't disclose the amount, but he got a great deal, even though the amount was high...I won't sell my sig to someone with a bad or no reputation for any price though.

Fletch, I see wher your coming from...I would look at it as a part of business however...Kind of like a car company hiring a pop star as their spokesperson, it does generate publicity, and the bottom line is it helps business.

Hmm, maybe 8k should go to their affiliates in the form of enhancements to the site, or higher payouts. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, the way I look at it is if you are promoting a company that suddenly rips webmasters off, you are partly responsible as well since you used your name and goodwill to pull in webmasters who may trust you.

Chris touched me in unappropriate places earlier this year in Vegas. This is my first time telling anyone.

we actually have a few different flash headers..we had them for new years..valentines day..etc etc..

but the Brad Shaw one gets the most response..

No, this is more of a courtesy, it's like if you use a product that you like, you tell your friends about it, right? I consider him a friend in this business...He has bought my sig for 3 months straight. And he will be the last person who will have ever bought my sig, since it will no longer be for sale. :)

I'm not gonna sell my sig to a sponsor I won't represent . If I don't trust it or I don't like it, I'm certainly not gonna put it in my sig ...

Lightspeed says they spend 300k+ a year on shit for affiliates, the money they spend doesnt matter to me. I acknowledge its both cool for publicity, and all but my point is to say just because someone bought this guys sig, and they dropped 8k, that doesnt neccessarily tell me "GO SIGN UP NOW!"

In all honesty, when I first saw the header I told myself - "wow another sponsor who takes the boards TOO SERIOUSLY"

the last thing I want to do when I go check my stats is be reminded of the idiots that take boards too seriously.its only a message board,...

sigs are fun but i wouldnt base my sponsor choice on it.
