never tried this niche before - is it worth getting into? how is it compared to other niches?

I have seen another guy, around here, posting a baloon affiliate program, my friend works in a porn warehouse, and people are always ordering baloon shit, it must be pretty decent. He should be flashing his sig right about now, very unique, very different.

Probably not as good as balloon, but with the balloon niche you have to understand the niche or you will never be able to make it convert.

one thing I will say about balloon fetish is that of all the fetishes I have researched for the writing project I am working on it is simply one of the most complex. I keep diving into the research, doing the interviews and writing material for a week at a time and then having to put it away and come back to it with fresh eyes. Heck, writing the chapter on sexual cannibals was easier.

yes and to add to it just in that one statement you hit on a seperation of the type of classification for the behaviours. For example, someone that is into balloons primarily for the material (ie latex/rubber) fits the classic definition of a fetish (ie, having to have the motive for the attraction be a material, shape or a body part that isn't otherwise considered sexual such as feet). The others technically don't fit into fetish but rather sub groupings of other paraphillias.

Then we get into the whole popper vs non-poppers.

some people that i have interviewed have talked about the innocence aspect but for most of them it is the pop or the sudden noise that broke that innocent moment and scared them. They feeling they had when they were suddenly scared is a feeling that many of them have translated into their adult sexuality. Perhaps that noise excited them at that age and they had their first or nearly first hardon. That is something I have heard a number of times from the people that have contacted me.

This is one of those fetishes that is wired firmly into a developing sexuality. Of course, there are those who come at it later in life but the vast majority I have talked to have held a secret interest in balloons - even if they haven't been able to identify the nature of the interest until later - with them through most of their lives.
