Congrats and good luck

i like the sounds of this but..
"The cost is 10 percent of the clicks Webmasters generate with the RemoteThumbs.com-generated thumbnail galleries. If a Webmaster sends 300,000 clicks to the galleries, the system will cut that cost to about 1 percent. "

granted this seems like a pretty cool tool. and would save on a bunch of time. but 10% of my clicked traffic to use it? thats asking ALOT. and ok, lets say i get over 300k and it drops to 1%. well, you are gettin 1% the entire time i am using this. if there was a flat out price, i would be ALOT more intrested in something like this, but im not willing to give someone 1-10% of my tgp income to use there product.

That is a bummer, cause most good entrepenuers realize that time is money first and foremost, and with the amount of time that you would save , and the ease of use , this tool is the biggest time saver i.e. money saver , as time = money ... that is available today... and with the volume of traffic you push through it , it is not like you lose that traffic, you in fact just exchange it for the use of a great tool so in essence you now get the best of both worlds! and unless you like being on keyboard all day then I would suggest you put your thoughtss down on Paper and revisit that idea...:winkwink:

brand0n 04-20-2004 03:41 PM

its not a matter of likin being infront of a keyboard all day. its a matter of what im going to do all day infront of the keyboard. if i use that product or not im going to be here. granted, it might free up some time for other ventures, but im still beliving that 10% is WAY to much to ask for it. not all of us have 300k hits to send to gallerys to get to the 1%

i guess if the initial % was lower i would be intrested. or a flat out price. that would grab my attention.

appriciate your input, so try it and find out, or wonder the choice is yours to make. I know what the guys that want more money, time , and have the ability to not lose a dollar tripping over a dime they dropped will be doing:thumbsup

I happened to be w/ Pedro down in Panama last week and he ran me through this whole system. It's definetly something we're going to play with. Time is Money! I for one would rather cough up 10% than to have one of my valuable employees spending time making thumbnails.

Sounds good

Good call and exactly the POV to see it from.

Real businessmen will love this. You can make more $$ cause you can spend your time with more important things.

:thumbsup to Boldy and JoesHo !

Way to go.

We want to improve the experience for all involved, and maximize profit potential for the people who would rather work smart as oppossed to work hard in order to build their EMPIRES!!:)

slackologist 04-20-2004 05:14 PM

it's a gallery builder?

fusionx 04-20-2004 05:30 PM

As a test, I just set it up on a domain that was pretty dead - my very first effort in the adult market. I always planned to come back to it but never did..

http://www.hottiesusa.com/main.shtml

It sucks - I know.. needs lots of TLC.. maybe tomorrow ;)

But the gallery section looks good.

Took about 30 minutes to get the physical paths, etc, correct in the setup. Once that worked, it's damn easy to make templates, etc.

Since this domain was basically abandoned, It's great to use a tool like this. It gets about 30 visitors a day from Yahoo and Alta-Vista, so maybe I'll work on it some more.

Good thinking, and after you have tried it please let us know your success story too will ya?:)

fusionx 04-20-2004 05:34 PM

Actually, a lot of those thumbs are grainy/blurry..

I will.. I'll clean it up, get rid of those "default Arles Image Gallery" templates and link in some real galleries, etc, then do some search engine stuff and see what happens.

Hey - at the least the site has a nice logo/header! That's gotta count for something :1orglaugh

Dirty F 04-20-2004 05:43 PM

Now its pretty useless as most tgps skim.

You should add an skim option for several trade scripts like Choker does with his similar program.

If you do that then i will use it.

Dirty F 04-20-2004 05:45 PM

And a small error. The code it generates for you to include in your page gives a physical path while it should be a relative path.

Forgot to mention that.. I had to change it to virtual and /filename.html

Doctor Dre 04-20-2004 05:52 PM

This script can save a shitload of time to a lot of webmaster as well as improve prod ... I've been wanting to have my programmers work on something like that for years

Yup, if only it would skim. Im personally not into tgps but knowing most tgps need a skim to generate traffic it would be a wise decision if they would add this. Cant be too much work anyway, its just a small code attached to the gallery links.

Dirty F 04-20-2004 05:55 PM

And they better hurry because Chokers system seems almost ready and so far it looks that it does the same thing just with more options.

Dirty F 04-20-2004 05:58 PM

And what also scares me is that one might make 100 tgps using this system and getting 500k traffic and you guys suddenly deceide its not profitable enough or whatever and pull the plug. The ars byot effect.

Joesho 04-20-2004 06:05 PM

Thank you for your input Battus, we will look into having those features installed when Boldy wakes up tommorrow...

:)

ALL input and comments are greatly appreciated... we want to know what items all of you think will better save you time, and get you the maximum results...

Yw, add some simply stuff like colors of the table etc. This is simply html coding and im sure Boldy can do that in 10 mins.

If he hurries i will make good use of it :)

Roger 04-20-2004 06:12 PM

so what does it do exactly?

Battus, hit me up on icq when you wake up .. Thanks

fusionx 04-21-2004 06:48 AM

I haven't really thought this through, so I'm throwing it out for discussion.

Along the lines of being able to skim, it would be nice to be able to make changes to the URLs the thumbs are linked to.

Maybe have a "link path" variable that we could point to a trade script. The issue here, of course, would be restoring the appropriate link from the trade script out to your site.

I know that with perl and PHP it's pretty easy to grab URL variables from the oncoming URL and replace them in the outgoing URL, so that shouldn't be too hard. You may have to supply the "tttout.php" script with URL mods for TTT and whatever other trade scripts people are using. Or, supply a patch for it, as I know Choker doesn't allow unapproved modifications to his free scripts.

Here's a big one - add title and alt elements to the thumbnails and HREFs for search engine food. This isn't something we as end users could do very well - would have to happen on your end. I don't know how your back end works, but I'm guessing the sponsors would have to supply the galleries with those text items included.

Along the same lines, gallery descriptions would be nice :)

Just food for thought -

It creates a thumbnail gallery with your choice of sponsors and niches, basically.

Check out http://www.hottiesusa.com/main.shtml and scroll down to the thumbnail gallery section. Yeah - the page sucks - I know :)

That section is created dynamically by the RemoteThumbs server/script.

fusionx 04-21-2004 06:59 AM

Something else that would be nice for end users, and great for sponsors, is a report showing niches and sponsors.

If I create a template with 5 sponsors and 10 niches, it would be cool to see if any niches were not supported, and which niches were supported by which sponsors.

If there were niches that my choice of sponsors did not cover, the report could suggest sponsors that do carry those niches.

HIGH Pedro.....:)

Paul Dinin 04-21-2004 06:44 PM

Props out to Pedro, Joesho, and Boldy on remotethumbs. It's definitely an interesting tool, and one that will benefit anyone who understands that tiempo es dinero.

This has not been a paid endorsement, and I am not a compensated celebrity.

inabon 04-21-2004 07:02 PM

see i told everyone that being down here in Panama is good. Cheap beer, putas and paul is learning spanish by the minute... about 30 minutes ago he could not say more money in spanish like he just did.

:thumbsup Paul Arriba

Dirty F 04-22-2004 02:55 PM
