My 15 yr.old son informed me that his girlfriend and he are sexually active

DR_PHIL 04-16-2004 11:39 AM

that would be the typical "talk show" reply.
this is real life.

How would you answer the email?

Thong Sniper 04-16-2004 11:43 AM

tell them to go to planned parenthood or an STD clinic. tell the mom/dad to take charge and help them out. theyre going to have sex anyway, so it would be nice if atleast one parent helped and understood.

also that 15 yo girl has an STD? doubtful, its probably a yeast infection or a vaginal tear from sex without enough lube ;D

MasterBlogger 04-16-2004 11:43 AM

Think about this email for a second ...

An adult has been informed that a minor (not their's) has an infectious disease and is possibly spreading it by his/her behaviour.

What would you do?

So in conclusion ...
what do you want me to tell this Parent?
be specific ...

MasterBlogger 04-16-2004 11:48 AM

Should this Parent contact the other Parents's?

kmanrox 04-16-2004 11:49 AM

simple

send them to

http://www.afraidtoask.com

MasterBlogger 04-16-2004 11:49 AM

Should the Parent of the son ONLY talk to the daughter (remember she is a minor)?

candyflip 04-16-2004 11:49 AM

I wouldn't answer their question, because I'm not a health care professional. I would direct them to a doctor or other medical professional. This person obviously doesn't have all the facts.

You have no business dispensing info you no knowthing about. But that hasn't stopped you before.

Did you hahahahaha this question yourself after seeing things unfold in this industry over the past few days?

ThePornPusher 04-16-2004 11:52 AM

Heres what I would say if I were you:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,

Thank you for writing. I am sorry to inform you but I am a internet pedo. I don't really know any advice to give your son, infact I only read these emails so I can beat off to them. Wouldn't you believe it, I have my cock in my hand right now. Please report me to the authorities, I have a problem. Thanks

See, here's the problem. You are running a sex education site where you get people asking you for advice on serious sexual topics...

BUT YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE SUBJECT!

If you don't already know what to tell the person then you either need to stop accepting email questions from people, or you need to change the focus of that site completely. Or perhaps donate the url to someone who could make proper use of it.

Naive people are going to think they are talking to a doctor or trained sexual therapist, not a burger flipper with a reputation for being a pedo.

jpwhits 04-16-2004 11:52 AM

You run an advice website and you have to come her for help? Good job pedo

In the question, the parent says that it's an infection that requires antibiotics. That's hardly an "infectious disease"
like you make it out to be. It could be a whole slew of different things. Someone mentioned a Yeast Infection. You make it seem like a 15 year old is spreading HIV to the entire world. Need a new crusade or something?

Again...you have no business counseling ANYONE in these matters.

NO - that is correct CandyFlip ...
YOU should not answer the question.
That does not mean that - I - should not.

It must be noted - that it is blatently obvious ...
from the sequence of clicks, and the entrance manner into SexEducation.com, that at least this person is pretending to be an adult.

In order to submit this email from the approved Ask-A-Question form that the person has agreed they are an adult.

So what is your answer to this other adult?

Thong Sniper 04-16-2004 11:57 AM

And how exactly are you qualified to answer the question? Are you a health care professional? Or just a burger flipper with a penchant for buggery?

A) I already know the answer.
B) I am an expert.
C) I am not a "hamburger flipper" - I am a "pizza delivery boy", I changed jobs.

Now ..
after the insults - answer the question.
What would you do regarding this email?

I answered your question for you already...since you seem to have passed over it.

Candy ...
In the email it says the female partner has an infection that requires "antibiotics".

Although, the probability is that a person which needs antibiotics for an "infection" usually has an infection that can infect OTHERS it is not always the case.

But the real life - probability - is that this female partner can infect others.

MasterBlogger 04-16-2004 12:17 PM

So what do you do as a Parent?

No that is not the case. This could be one of any number of infections that might not even be an STD. Something that is not harmful and probably not even transferrable. Don't attempt to stir up shit for these kids and their families. The fact that you can't see that there are many possibilities is scary.

Gemini 04-16-2004 12:21 PM

If it's something infectious, they'll end up at their county health dept anyhow... so cut out all the middlemen and go straight to that office.. they do testing as well. If it turns out to be non-infectious, good.

But any way you go at it, the county will be wanting sexual partner names to inform and test them if it turns out to be the creeping crud. ANY doctor would have to have the same partner info, and guess what... report it to the local Health Dept.

You reallllly need to get rid of those domains to the people that at least have a clue. It would be sad for you to cause someones death and then not have ANY monies to pay them when they sue you blind.

I see many ...MANY ..possibilities.
Just answer the question.
What would you like SexEducation.com to reply to this email with?
I know my answer - and it has not been posted.

DR_PHIL 04-16-2004 12:23 PM

go talk to your parents..obviously they have issues with their parents if they cant talk to them at 15 about sex. Never to late for a change in a relationship.

Ar3s 04-16-2004 12:24 PM

Send him to the afraidtoask site..
