Jay Leno's 11 Mill/year raise

New contract: 27 Million a Year through end of the decade. For you Leno fans, no worry of his retiring anytime soon:glugglug

I'll be surprised if Letterman goes till 2010.

High Quality 03-30-2004 07:58 AM

Nicky 03-30-2004 07:59 AM

Are you kidding? The Tonight Show is one of NBC's top revenue and profit generators. Why shouldn't the key person responsible get a big share of the profits also?

Furious_Male 03-30-2004 08:25 AM

Big bucks.. I am sure he will add to his huge auto collection now.

Peaches 03-30-2004 08:32 AM

A little trivia - Jay Leno doesn't spend any of his Tonight Show salary. He's even said he doesn't even involve himself in the negotiations because he doesn't care - he agent does EVERYTHING.

C-Bass 03-30-2004 08:42 AM

I wonder if he can spare 20 bucks?

hit me up Leno :Graucho

Viper2K1 03-30-2004 09:25 AM

Conan is (became) way better than Leno

With Leno everything looks soooo prepared, and i hate to hear that dude from the band laugh all the time.
That drummer is even more fake

Conan rules :thumbsup
I love it when he goes like: Late Night with who ??
hehe, funny guy

the only thing about leno is the plane hangar full of badass cars...
Conan on the other hand kicks ass

:glugglug

liquidmoe 03-30-2004 10:36 AM

Conan is definitely the shit, but Leno compared to Letterman, come on, Leno sucks ass, its so boring. But I think Conan definitely out does all of them, except for maybe the Daily Show.

riosluts 03-30-2004 10:38 AM

I actually though that he would make way more than just $27million. Alot of actors and big tv show actors, make about 3x as much

exspamr 03-30-2004 10:38 AM

conan is the best... leno is better than letterman but his show isnt very good... letterman just isnt funny at all, sometimes jay has his moments... did i mention letterman sucks?

Axeman 03-30-2004 10:39 AM

Conan is great. Jay bores me

myjah 03-30-2004 10:39 AM

i only the like the part where he shows the bloopers in newspapers and magazines

That's what he said in Seinfeld's movie, but I'm sure he's going to or already has dipped into it to buy a couple cars. He didn't make that much money before the show started. :2 cents:

wish i made his money though

kimzar 03-30-2004 11:18 AM

thats a lot of money for a already built in audience

Sly_RJ 03-30-2004 11:21 AM

The guy busts his ass day in and day out creating new, fresh material and skits. Everyone knows who he is. He makes NBC a lot of money.

Who's to say what he "deserves" to make?

what he said.

But im in for Letterman eversince.

B-Eazy 03-30-2004 11:29 AM

Conan and Jay ROCK :ak47: :ak47:

CDSmith 03-30-2004 11:32 AM

It's the hockey, football, baseball and nba players that are grossly overpaid (especially hockey, they are killing the market).

The network will pay Leno what he's worth to them, like it or not.

I miss Johnny.

asuna 03-30-2004 11:33 AM

conan isn't as funny as he used to, not cause andy left, they do the same skits over and over, the game where they take a pic of magnifiy it and stuff, they need to bring back the real funny ones, the staring contests, taking the desk for a drive, and in the year 2000

SetTheWorldonFire 03-30-2004 11:35 AM

I bet Letterman is even more envious :glugglug

They still take the desk for a drive and do the year 2000...

well, Leno is OK, funny and a very nice guy.

but you have to "get" Dave Letterman. just like you have to "get" Johnny Carson, or Groucho, or San Knison (both deceased).

just like you have to "get" Larry David of curb your enthusiasm.

and if you "get" these guys i don't think anyone can hold a candle to them.

and i am constantly amazed that conan o'brien even has an audience, or guys like adam sandler, never understood his sophomoric shit.

but to each his own.

shepherd 03-30-2004 01:03 PM

It's not about how good or bad Leon is, but how much money he brings to the network.
People there could care less. As long as he brings the eyeballs they're happy.

MikeSmoke 03-30-2004 01:04 PM

Leno is serving a very important purpose for NBC, and not just because of the revenue he brings in....
there's still a very "old" audience out there...and he's a "medium ground" talent between the "old" style of talk show (Johnny Carson) and the "newer" style (Conan, Kimmel and Letterman at times). The "old" audience still likes the lame, scripted bits that Jay does, and doesn't get the edgier stuff.
In 10 years, or whenever Leno retires, the current "older" audience will be irrelevant, and the sensibilities of the mass audience will be such that someone like Conan will be accepted as the host of the country's "flagship" late night broadcast.
Personally, i watch the Daily Show and Tough Crowd, then Kimmel until Conan comes on.

EZRhino 03-30-2004 03:04 PM

More bikes and cars for him

Nysus 03-30-2004 03:08 PM

Anyone know what cars he already has on order? :winkwink:

Cheers,
Matt
