More movies that suck

horrible fucking movies:

About Schmidt: bizarre and slow
Lost In Translation: also bizarre and slow, and add boring to the list.
Daredevil: Something about seeing Ben Afleck in skin tight red leather is very disturbing.
Hulk: was on the fence for a long time with this one, but have now decided that it does indeed suck.
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: absolutely fucking horrible. DO NOT RENT THIS MOVIE!
Freddy vs. Jason: serious cheese overdose. But for the record, I'm glad Jason kicked that stupid fuckers ass.
Underworld: *sigh*.... sorry, I'm still not buying into the vampire thing.

He-Man 03-08-2004 06:01 AM

I thought Lost in Translation was a nice easy movie with good acting. What sort of movies do you like Amputate Your Head?

quiet 03-08-2004 06:05 AM

didn't see any of the movies you mentioned, except for Hulk and Lost...

Hulk sucked.

I enjoyed lost in translation though. Absolutely stunning cinematography. solid acting, though the script was weak at times. the film was more about location than anything else imo.

a nice movie with good acting?? That movie was so damned boring I nearly turned it off halfway through.... kept waiting for something to happen.... anything to happen..... and it never did. So it boils down to 2 hours of some lame schmuck's life that goes to Japan and is miserable.

woohoo! Not. Who the hell thought anyone would be interested in that?

anyway..... moving on. some GOOD movies:

SeaBiscuit
Intolerable Cruelty
Oceans Eleven
Pulp Fiction
Cabin Fever
Basic
American Pie
Van Wilder
U571
etc....

hova 03-08-2004 06:08 AM

Lost in Translation was a good movie, the rest of the list all suck. The Hulk is one of the worst I have ever seen, but the worst movie is a certain movie one of our fellow GFYers wanted me to go to. The movie was: ONE MOTHERFUCKING HOUR MOTHERFUCKING PHOTO :ak47: :BangBang:

Van Wilder is a funny movie, looks a bit strange in that list (wich I had to edit, because you made some typos)

Anna_O 03-08-2004 06:11 AM

How can you not like Freddy vs Jason? It's hillarious :thumbsup

I apologized many times for taking you to see that one. I honestly thought it was Insomnia. But you made me watch the Hulk. That?s right people; HOVA OWNS THE HULK!:ugone2far :ugone2far

Amputate Your Head 03-08-2004 06:14 AM

yeah, One Hour Photo was pretty bad too.....

and that other one Robin Williams did a while ago... I think it was something started with an "I".... can't remember the name now.

where he was some whack job writer in some cabin and killed someone....

Joe Citizen 03-08-2004 06:14 AM

Some more shitty movies:

Any Star Wars movie.
Any Matrix Movie.
Forrest Gump.

it's just too cheesy. I don't mind lowbrow, but it's gotta be funny/witty lowbrow. Freddy flicks are just... well, bad.

Amputate Your Head 03-08-2004 06:17 AM

i like everyone that was in that movie, but the movie itself was too fucking weird.

Amputate Your Head 03-08-2004 06:19 AM

Also, The Medallion. Jackie Chan. I rented this one by accident.... meant to get something else, but The Medallion was in the case when I got home, so fuck it.... I watched it.

shouldn't have.

but then Jackie Chan movies are bad anyway and I knew this.

yeah, I own it too..... I used to buy all my movies. Just this year started renting them first, because it seemed everything coming out was crap, and I got sick of burning $20 a pop on these movies that are complete junk.

in fact, I should really go through my collection and eliminate 75% of the shit in there. I think Blockbuster will take trades now.... give you like, half off on movie purchases if you trade in.

Dveron 03-08-2004 06:27 AM

Except ROTK, Lost in Translation was one of the best films I've seen in ages. Pretty patchy script made up for by great direction and performances. Just perfect acting by Murray, especially in the second half of the film, he should have won oscar imho :thumbsup

Trent Edison 03-08-2004 06:27 AM

Some useful info in this thread. Thanx guys.

Jackie Chan's movies always have sorry endings. Anybody see Rumble in the Bronx? Damn the ending left you with WTF the movies over?

Amputate Your Head 03-08-2004 06:36 AM

Once Upon A Time In Mexico

(drumroll.....)

I watched this one twice to make sure I didn't miss something important, and after the second watching.... no, I didn't miss anything. It sucked.

hoe_vender 03-08-2004 06:38 AM

The Hulk was so bad i was disappointed

Gunni 03-08-2004 06:38 AM

Jackie Chan sn't always terrible, Rush hour 1 & 2 ruled!!

:1orglaugh Thanks man, I thought I was the only one! I turned it off the first time, but had to try it again and watched the whole shitty thing. Big time dissapointment!

Gunni 03-08-2004 06:40 AM

Oh, and anyone seen Rosemaries baby?
What a fucking waste of time that was!!

Amputate Your Head 03-08-2004 06:42 AM

a lot of movies fall into the middle range too.... not necessarily horrible movies, but ones you don't ever really wanna see again....

Not a bad movie, but not like I need to see it again either:

Radio
Open Range
Hollow Man
Runaway Jury
etc....

Rush Hour 1 was okay, but that wasn't thanks to that Jackie Chan! And why would one post a good movie in a "more movies that suck thread"??

And the postmen sucks mucho

hova 03-08-2004 06:45 AM

And what about "the mothman prophecies"?
or "Driven"??

More movies that suck; Just about all Van Damme and Steven Segal movies!

I loved Lost In Translation as well, and the script was mostly improvised in the middle of the night, so It was pretty damned good for NO script.

OldJeff 03-08-2004 06:51 AM

Movies I can watch countless times

Godfather
Godfather 2
Casablanca
Pulp Fiction
Steel Magnolia's (OK so I like chick flicks)
Moonstruck
My Cousin Vinny
12 Angry Men (Either one original or remake)
Shindlers List
Silence of the Lambs

Movies I wouldn't watch again at gunpoint

The Avengers
Daredevil
Titanic
The Astronauts Wife
Any slasher movie ever made
The Ring
Signs
