Spotbrokers has new ownership, I got paid today :)

There is new ownership at Spotbrokers now. I just got paid for amounts outstanding since last fall, which was a nice surprise.

I want to say that is very good of the new owner and I am turning on the traffic again, back to Spotbrokers :)

quiet 02-20-2004 12:55 PM

nice. so, who bought it?

Babaganoosh 02-20-2004 12:55 PM

They fussed. They were ignored.

Sly_RJ 02-20-2004 01:17 PM

So Backov and KK didn't pay people what they were owed? Am I understanding this correctly?

the payments were delayed. I did get partial payments a couple of times....but quite late. there was a management issue there, that has been resolved with the sale of the company. thats my read on the situation.

im just glad to have spotbrokers back...

Me too, hopefully the new owner will approve traffic buys faster than "when I feel like it" so I can buy some traffic.

Hello,

There is no story here.

The previous owners are good people and were truly concerned about money that was owed. They just got into a difficult situation and were unable to work their way out of it.

The money owed was one of their main concerns prior to me taking over and it was stipulated in our agreement that everyone would be taken care of....and it is now my responsibilty.

IT was getting messy.

This is business, if someone doens't pay me money they owe me, I could care less how great people they are. Don't say you're going to pay out X amount unless you're 100% sure you can, or else you ripped people off, plain and simple. :2 cents:

Got server problems? Fuck you, pay me.

Buyers didn't pay you? Fuck you, pay me.

You're a girl who's friendly to lonely guys on message boards and you think that makes up for not paying people what you promised? Fuck you, pay me.

Sly_RJ 02-20-2004 03:13 PM

Heh. Hilarious.

Right on, Rich.

quiet 02-20-2004 03:14 PM

good approach and attitude stu. good luck with things...

most businesses have receivables.
this one was a little late in coming, due to a reorg of the company.
could have been much worse.

angelsofporn 02-20-2004 03:24 PM

cool..that means i cancel my appointment to have the spotbrokers tatoo on my ass lasered off...sweet

Yes it could have been, but you're a big name, did every little guy get the same payment as you? Doesn't sound like it.

Even if they did, I'm talking about the old owners. They came in with basically the same business plan as Choker, took business from him, and then didn't pay for what, 8 months? If this was any noname and people would be crying scam.

you are partially right. i'm sure i got some partial payments, but then i was owed more money too, but i dont know where the 8 months came from?

as for taking business from Choker, its not exactly the same.
Chokers galleries were very different. They had a ton of outlinks and really did not meet the existing rules at most traditional TGPs. You were literally breaking your own submit rules by listing them. With Spotbrokers you could use your existing supply of galleries, without any changes.

Two different ways to do business and it gave the webmasters some options...
:thumbsup

DTK 02-20-2004 08:56 PM

I'd been wondering why certain people had seemed less active on the boards........

Choker 02-21-2004 06:30 AM

Spotbrokers business plan was doomed to failure from the start. The buy and sell prices were made by someone who had absolutely no clue as to what was going on in the gallery spot/TGP marketplace. The only thing that kept it going was the owners reputation and influence. Many dirty stunts were pulled by some big players in the TGP scene. You know who you are and I am laughing at your misfortunes. You got what you deserved. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Yeah I AM TALKING to you.

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Stu for some time now. He is a number cruncher and if anyone can turn Spotbrokers around and make it a profitable business, Stu can. I wish him the best of luck.

BTW, I never developed the site but if anyone is interested spotchokers.com is for sale now :Graucho

Thank you for your kind comments. It has been my pleasure to do business with Choker. He is one of the busiest and hardest working guys I've ever known, but has always been willing to take time to answer my questions and give me whatever help I've needed. I've been dealing with Choker for well over a year (since October 2002 I think) and there has never been any question or concern on my part about any deal we've made...he has always been 110% honest. Some people may not like it, but he tells it like it is.

Also, I want to thank all those who have expressed their good wishes. I'll try my best to make Spotbrokers work well for anyone and everyone doing business with me.
