Need Advice
What would you guys do if you worked for a company that kept screwing you around with your money?
My husband works for a company thats well known on these boards and has not recieved his pay for last month yet. He also went to Vegas and ended up paying for most things himself while representing this company. I watch my husband work his heart out and I am very pissed right now that we cannot cash one check that was given to him at internext. The check mind you was for far less than what he earned. He keeps telling me not to out this company so he can keep his good name however we are sitting on a check for less than half his earnings that we cannot cash and have promises for the other half when it was supposed to be paid on the first of the month and here it's near the tenth of the month. Also he used his own money to pay for everything at internext which about drained our account. What would you do in this case? I don't want my husbands name destroyed by this post but I also can't sit back and watch him keep getting ripped off by employers that don't want to pay. We have been through this twice before with other companies and have not outted those companies either but to me enough is enough. :feels-hot |
Time to start escorting honey....
|
i like money and i know if i worked for the money i would be furious if i didn't get it..... :2 cents:
|
Why wasn't your husband paid? Has this happened before? Are there any extenuating circumstances?
|
It's not like there is a limited number of programs in this biz.
If he's good enough to front the company he's working with Vegas promotion, then there are alot of programs that would fight to have him on board. Ditch the freeloaders! |
time for him to move on, in this business you have to live with the following rule "strike one and your OUT!" or else you will regret it.
Once a story teller always a story teller. |
if it was me, id name them and then quit. Not getting paid anyway, so whats the point of covering for their ass. He didnt do anything wrong so his rep is fine.
|
tell him to get out... sure we love our job... but we have mouths to feed up, family that can get hungry... and didnt we all work to earn for a living?
|
Out the company.
I dont see how a company not paying your man would make him look bad. I also dont see how him paying for his own trip is fair esp. if it was for the company. Neither one of these things would make your husband look bad but they will make the company he works for look bad. Tell the hubby to work for someone who will pay him! |
Well, that's a tough situation. By posting this have you now made this a situation where the company could be outed though? Also, would he be happy about you doing this?
I know you mean well, you are mad, and you are sticking up for him and for yourself. I can appreciate and understand that. Has this been a long time though? Also, did he ask you let him handle this? If he did, I would just let him deal with this and speak with you in private. As a man, I would want to handle the situation myself, and would be upset if my wife/fiance got in the middle of it on a very huge board in the industry. Again, I am not flamming, just my thoughts. I do hope that it gets resolved for you. Trust you man to come through and let him fight this battle. You may be hurting his pride and his manhood by doing this. I'm sure that he will get it taken care of. I do sympathize with your position and with your feelings, and am sorry that you have to go through this. It sounds like your husband works really hard, and he deserves his full pay. I hope that he gets it. Good luck! |
If it's Perfection Girls that your husband works for, you're screwed. :winkwink:
|
My husband is a very proud man. He is very upset that I am posting this right now.
But on our personal bank account he used over 600 dollars of our money entertaining clients of the company he works for that coupled with the fact that he is still owed everything from last month for this company it makes it hard for me to get bills paid. So my position is fuck pride. Companies that put thier employees in this position should go out of business. :feels-hot |

Please keep in mind, that he feels like the provider, and that if he cannot provide you are starting to be upset with him and step into places that he does not want you to, that you may be making him feel very small.:2 cents: |
My advice: buy an uzi.
|
My husband is a very good provider and probably the heardest worker I know.
We were able to send him to vegas and not worry about it because he has 2 businesses outside of the work he does for others ... I will survive but I am very pissed that when a big company promises someone something for thier time they should be able to pay ontime and not make people like me make posts like this. |
From personal experience I can tell you once a company fails to pay your paycheck on time thats a sign of the end. Either for the company or for your eventual employment. Dont stick around and go down with the sinking ship. Definitely start looking for other employment, from the sounds of it your husband looks to be a stand up guy who would do well in plenty of other programs.
Unless there are truly some extenuating circumstances which make a whole lot of sense I would start moving on now. Whether or not you reveal the company or how you proceed is your choice, but I would simply say start worrying about #1 which is you and your family, its obvious the company isn't worried about them. If outing the company will benefit you, go for it, if it wont, then dont. Work off of reason instead of emotion. |
This company is probably on the verge of bankruptcy. And there are going to be a lot of webmasters not getting paid also.
Maybe its insiteadult and their $1 email program. |

Start making documantation |
This isn't a company that pays webmasters.
This company provides a service for webmasters. Thats why he wants to keep it private. Thats also why webmasters in the past have not stuck up for him in this very situation. And to the fool that told me to become an escort that was a classy response I hope you run your business better than you run your mouth. |
See that no response for an hour after I said this company didn't pay webmasters.
Exactly why my husband didn't want me to post this because the level of support for someone in his position is non existant. But without my husband I can say a lot of you would be having lots of problems ... I'll go away now this thread answered my questions about my husbands fears of not outting the company. But when my husband says enough of this and gets a mainstream job I'm sure you'll all miss his expertise. |

See, rediculous. Nobody with sense here is going to back a thieving company. On that note, there are some with no sense here. |
Its hard to offer advice or give a reaction when you don't answer questions about the situation.

No extenuating circumstances. Hasn't happened before because it's his first month. |
Stop working for the cheats, find a reputable company to work for, obtain legal representation, go after the amount, move on.
good luck :) |
Let me ask you a question (since you're asking us all questions but not giving us any answers to work with)...
If this were a brick and mortar company would you stand for it? Whatever the answer is, that's what you do. There's no difference when you're talking about employment. *shrugs* If it were *me*, I'd give them a week to pay what they owed me (including Vegas costs) and have the money for the check I'm holding, then tell them "I'll see you in court" if it doesn't appear. |
What questions have I not answered?
At this time I will not give the name of the company... I was just looking for input as to see if I was wrong in my feelings on this situation. |

We have never been ripped off by 12clicks or his company. |
Hah! And here I thought she could not get to this site from her office.
Really though, your feelings are correct, I'd out them. |
First of all, let the guy fight his own battles. I stay out of my husband's business and I'd be pissed if stuck his nose into mine.
I know it must be frustrating to see him work so hard without reward. The guy obviously deserves what's coming to him but having 'mommy' deal with it for him is not the professional way to handle it. Just my :2 cents: |

you are the first anon in 6 years to *NOT* say I cheated them. :winkwink: If I can help you, drop me an email. If this is Mrs. modF, there will be hell to pay.:winkwink: |

I smell bullshit somewhere here. |
If the company is late paying him for his first month, he either needs to get used to getting screwed over or he needs to part ways with the company.
Assuming he choses the latter course, make sure he has all of the documentation he needs about what he is owed before he quits. Its generally easier to get info out of a company while you're still working for them than after the fact. It might even be wise to speak with a lawyer prior to quitting just to make sure. |
Where you in Vegas with your husband?

He has been in this business since 1996 so he is not a newbie and that is why I am not giving out his name... But trust me many of you know him very well and know he doesn't bring most beefs to the boards... With that said I support him but I tired of seeing him ripped off for hours he puts into these companies. |

Its diffrent if my hubby works hours away from me for money but if he's spending hours away from me and we have nothing to enjoy from it it really sucks. |
There really is no reason that they shouldnt be able to pay him for his first month, I mean what kind of first impression is that setting. Anyway if you go two months without payment what then, I think you should start searching for new oppurtunities and not waiting around for this company to screw you again.
Maybe if you had a long history with them it would make sense but if shit is sour in the first month, there isn't much to stick around for is there? |

But I wonder just how many companies are out there right now saying hmm is this one of my employees wives? Are we affecting this persons wife and kids from eating by not paying him? Are we screwing ourselves because when it comes out who this is this person is creditable enough to take our business down with this post? Must suck to be a business owner right now and owe your employees while you partied hearty in Vegas huh? I'll say this, If my husband is not paid in full what he is owed by monday noon EST your names will be outed with all the proof. Good Luck Guys hope you play the right end of the field. Being stuck out in left field alone will suck at this point. |
