Ok I'm getting to bed now, I have a football (soccer) match at 10am. I have 6 hours before I need to wake up........ NOT ENOUGH!
Night ya'll... |
I love Kebabs with mayonaise...awesome...I always get to drunk though and fall asleep with it and wake up and the mayonaise has dried out and it is stuck to my face.
|
I love Döner Kebap... especially after a night of heavy drinking.

Good lord, that brings back memories! I haven't had a doner since '91 when I was in Berlin. They are SO DAMN TASTY, but you smell like garlic for the rest of the night, lol.

I love kebab - with Turkey and Greece as our neighbors we have them on every corner here. |
A doner and a gyros are the same thing. It's usually shaved/sliced lamb and beef. It's usually put into a pita with tomatos, onions and tzazitki (a sauce made of garlic, dill and yogurt).
If you're having it with mayonnaise, you may as well eat shit on a stick. And a quarter pounder with cheese and big mac are two different burgers, no matter where you are in the world. A quarter pounder is a 1/4 lb beef patty on a sesame seed bun with two slices of cheese, slivered onions, ketchup and mustard. A big mac is two small beef patties (1/5 lb), lettuce, onions, one slice of cheese, pickles, special sauce on a three piece bun. |
This thread has made me realize just how lucky I am to live in such a multi-cultural city as Montreal, where we have very many different ethnicities and different ethnic foods, and all of them are authentic, not bastardizations like 'donairs' or 'chicken shwarma'.

how odd you should mention a doner kebap, i was searching high and low
trying to find places around here that might have it i miss the days of back home and my favorite place. on the street they had this kick ass cook, iranian or turkish and every time he'd see me approach he'll have this huge grin on his face cause i was addicted to those things, there were times when i ate 4-5 doner kebaps every day |
Kraz
zdravo :thumbsup |

Döner kebab rules! The best ones I've had are in Copenhagen (still have to go to Istanbul). Specially with lots of chilly sauce and an ice cold beer :glugglug

Ummmm...quarter pounder and Big Mac are not the same thing at all in any countries. If confused watch Pulp Fiction ;) Oh and doner kebab - yum. Pissed or sober it's still good especially if the meat is well done :) |
i love kebab:thumbsup

god I love Keeebabs :thumbsup |
kebab rox, my fav. fast food. If im not so hungry I usually have it @ my fav place with french bread (abit fluffier then pita, sucks up the sauce real good -- and you want alot). Abit hungrier I have a so called "kebabroll". Meaning a fresh baked pizzabread .. then they put all the shit in and roll it up, kickass combo. With rice is nice too.
I didn't thought gyros and kebab was the same thing.. basicly it is but where I've have had kebab (and there's been quite some placed by now) gyros is another meat, often chunkier. ohm, kebabpizza is nice too .. at the right pizzaplace. Whatever you get make sure its freshly sliced off the http://www.turkey.org/artculture/images/cuisine22.jpg |

I grew up eating Gyros and had one in Greek street in Brussels last month and they aren't exactly the same as a Doner, atleast the way they are served in the UK. |
